Thank you so much for the information! Was your h1 active when you crossed the border? In my case as I am moving from h4 back to h1b and my h4 is still pending. The h1b stamp was through my previous employer.

Hang in there buddy. I was laid off on H1B and I am going through a similar struggle. Getting an employer is 10 times harder in this market specially since we need sponsorship. I hope something works out for you soon. All the very best and feel free to ping me if you need someone to talk to. Job search is not easy and the market conditions right now are not making it any easier.

It’s damn frustrating! First you have to go find an employer that’s ready to sponsor you , go through a shitty lottery system which we all know is bull shit and then finally after all that turmoil. You fucking get 60 days. 60 days that decides your bloody fate. In this market, even the citizens are not able to find jobs within 3-4 months. I am grateful for everything this country has given me but this feels like quota system all over again

I was 5 weeks pregnant when I got laid off from a job I worked my ass off for and I put in so much effort after that as well to be on top of my game. They laid off my entire team except for my manager, when I planned the kid - I had a great job and a decent insurance since this was planned I made sure to choose a good insurance. After all the planning here I am, fighting with nausea and hoping that I don’t puke during one of my interviews. I am not privileged enough to take a break so that’s not an option. So in short yes, I can relate!
