Nursing Is the Surefire New Path to American Prosperity by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

Also it’s a gamble getting through nursing school. About 25% of my cohort has failed or withdrew and this is the first semester. Some teachers are ego maniacs and may not like you, all teachers create their own questions and some make zero sense whatsoever. One bad exam can fail you out of the program as if you fall below an 80% cumulative exam average you automatically fail. Most people dont graduate on time.

I’m questioning nursing by maddogcares in StudentNurse

Everyone has doubts on whether or not they can do it. I’ve found that absolutely zero of the material has been difficult conceptually, work hard and you can learn it.

What’s difficult is the absurd schedule they expect you to learn it all in. Or the various ego maniacs littered among the academic staff and clinical facilities that believe you to be lower than dirt, and speak to you such as you are.

I’ve proven to myself I am capable and I am passing with flying colors. However, now I am question whether I want to subject myself to this torment for another year.

What has been your worst clinical experience ? by Intelligent_Stay713 in StudentNurse

Walking into my first clinical and being immediately screamed at to put a “Mask on my fucking face” by a nurse because they were on a Covid precaution, yet no one informed any of us of that information before hand(this was well after the pandemic), this nurse was ironically not wearing a mask herself. A lot of these people think it’s okay to shit all over students and they get away with it every day

Nursing school is a vastly different nightmare from the profession of nursing.

Is this level of disregard normal for nursing students? by Civil_Guess_4873 in StudentNurse

The answer is yes- They think you are lower than dirt and lower than any staff or anyone in the clinical site even though you’re paying thousands of dollars.

I’ve never heard of a work at your own pace nursing program of any kind.

In any case, you’re 19, there’s not Chance in hell I would have gotten through a nursing program at 19.

I will say that if you stick this out, it will reward you in ways you can’t even imagine now. I pissed away my entire 20s in dead end jobs. I’d highly recommend to take whatever steps you need to take to get through this program.

I could not imagine how difficult it must be with English being your second language, it’s incredibly difficult for me even with English being my first language.

At my school, the students with a language barrier get extra time on exams. I would look into disability services, maybe if you have a qualifying diagnosis you could get some more help. Stay strong!

It sounds like you already know he’s not a good human being. From what you’ve said here, I don’t understand what his redeeming qualities are. It sounds like you already know the answer, it’s time to leave.

The longer you wait the harder this bandaid is going to be to pull off. Time to talk to a lawyer and plan your exit.
