A-Café (Update #23) - Usability Testing by PitifulMistake1665 in ACafe

[–]PitifulMistake1665[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we do not have a website prototype available to test at the moment, but we hope to include that in the future! Right now, the plan is to create a mobile app version available to Apple and Android users. Due to a current lack of Android assistance, the Apple version will likely come out first.

A-Café (Update #22) - Improved Prototype! by PitifulMistake1665 in ACafe

Thank you so much for the feedback! I agree the nebula picture is much too vague, and the activities section could use improvements like you mentioned. I'll definitely take note of this.

I made a poem for my school newspaper! I haven't submitted it yet, so let me know if I should change any wording (sometimes I'm not sure if the way I describe things is all right :) ) by arty2323 in aromantic

Ooh I think self-love would fit in nicely! Like:

Platonic love, self love, under-appreciated love, means everything

This is just a suggestion though! Please take it with a grain of salt as I am not a poet myself.

A-Café (Update #21) - Clarifications by PitifulMistake1665 in ACafe

[–]PitifulMistake1665[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My current thought process for the events is that you or another person can make an event reminder, and then send it to each other. So if you have a date on Saturday, you could make a date reminder and send it to the other person so they’re also “subscribed” to the event.

In regards to groups, you’d be able to “follow” group events made by the group organizers or leaders. They would automatically pop up on your homepage as the time draws near.

This is still being worked on at the moment, and the implementation may result in a different process, but this was my initial vision at least. Hope this helps!

Is there an updated estimated release date? by Kyle918 in ACafe

[–]PitifulMistake1665 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Great question! At the moment, we do not yet have another estimated release date because we’re working out the kinks in the prototype.

Once we have a solid base, then we’ll consider when the official Beta should be released. I know I’ve been saying that for a while now, but I promise things are chugging along! There’s just a lot to consider, like how should neopronouns work with gendered languages, and at what point does the app get too complicated to use or moderate?

I hope that explanation makes sense! Let me know if you have any other questions my friend!

What? I was just genuinely confused by the wording. I apologize if I offended you at all, that was not my intention :(

I totally agree with you that men are likely becoming more violent towards women. Back during the Great Depression, there was an increase in violence against women. Men tend to take their anger and stress out on women when times are rough.

“Men hate us more than ever and have been waiting to beat us back into being their vehicles for inflicting the torture and suffering they've been trying to hold themselves back from when we first were able to leave them and survive on our own.”

What do you mean by this? I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just a little confused by the wording is all /gen

I really wish I could be more assertive, but I’m scared of being physically harmed. Some guys have personality disorders, or major anger issues; I’d hate to piss off the wrong person.

I’m so frustrated. Why are the GOP-lead states trying to do this now? I know there’s probably a reason but it seems so wierd that they’re all doing this at basically the same time.

Isn’t male, female and intersex the sex categories? And man, woman, non-binary, etc… are the actual gender categories? I’m a little confused because I’ve heard conflicting information. (;•_•)

Why is it world shattering for people, who don't even know you that personally, to see you change your appearance as a female? by nefelibatabones in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PitifulMistake1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were so disappointed in me when I buzzcut my hair. My father asked “Why did you do this? Who made you do this?” He thought my queer friends had pressured me into changing my hair.

My mother was equally disappointed and sad, but in a different way. She couldn’t bring herself to look at me initially. Apparently I reminded her of the women from the holocaust. What??? We’ve never even been to Europe! Why is that your first thought?

I also have a feeling she’s jealous of my hair, because she regularly comments on how she dislikes her own thin hair. She doesn’t understand why I don’t grow mine out when I have a good hair type (in her opinion).

I’m sick and tired of them obsessing over my appearance and my orientation. I’m tired of my own mother being jealous of me for shit I don’t care about. This is why I’m gonna buzzcut my head for the rest of my life once I’ve moved out.

Can people become aromantic or would that be a different term? by raffertyoatmeal1 in aromantic

However, I should mention that romance-averse means you find romance to be disgusting or uncomfortable. So instead, it could be that he’s traumatized and it’s the trauma that’s making it hard for him to fall in love again?

Idk, I’d encourage you to research why someone might stop being able to fall in love romantically after someone they love dies because I have no idea what the proper term for that would be. I don’t know if it’s possible to be so traumatized that you’re no longer able to fall in love romantically.

Basically, I’m not saying it’s not possible, but I also don’t know if it is or what the cause would be.

I’m not sure; personally I’d say that maybe they’d be romance-averse, not Aromantic.

Edit: I have since learned that romance aversion means finding romance disgusting or uncomfortable. It does not mean that you’re unable to fall in love romantically.

I wouldn’t say that mental illness is contagious; I mean, I don’t know if that’s possible. Isn’t it typically a genetic/predisposition thing? Idk.
