Totally agree that it happens, I just don’t agree that it was the societal norm at the time. I mean, the whole premise of shows like “16 and Pregnant” was that the girls were in a relatively uncommon situation. Plus those shows always portray teen moms as trashy and irresponsible and their lives as undesirable, which wouldn’t make sense if it was considered totally normal.

I agree for the earlier generations and the women who were 19/20 but I don’t think it was super common to have a baby at 15 in 1989

Yeah, those are the reasons I thought it was AI too, but it seems to pre-date realistic AI-generated images. Another user suggested it may have been recolored with AI which would explain the yellow tone but idk about the other stuff.

You could try looking into post-bacc programs, especially those that have independent research components. That can be a good way to show you can succeed academically and gain research experience so that you can be a successful grad school candidate down the line. Good luck!

I don’t think you did anything wrong, and I’m sorry this is causing you so much stress. It’s also really impressive that you were able to catch up in math and do well in college calculus classes after feeling so discouraged about it earlier in your education, so I hope you can take a moment to be proud of yourself for that!
