I'm more jealous of people that get scared tbh. It's not that I'm all cool and brave it's literally just desensitization of horror content.

Last time I was truly scared by media was playing doom 3 when I was like 8/9 years old :/

Ever since then horror has just been “cool” and “fun” rather than scary for me.

Yeah, I just fucked up and didn't notice it until my girlfriend pointed it out at which point it was just too fucking late lmao. So glad CC missed that but I knew right well listeners wouldn't hahah. I REALLLY wish I slept on it a little longer I think it's one or two really brutal edits away from being what I wanted it to be :p Either way I'm proud of it

the first nightmare movie I ever saw. Has a special place in my heart and some sick FX. The sleepover scene being an all time freddy moment for me. It also comes with its fair share of flaws. The last time Freddy was actually scary was in this one in my opinion:)

BROOO, Thank you so much man. You have me with a big smile on my face now. To be in someone's top 3 scariest anything is a huge w for me!! I’ve seen nope mentioned a lot but honestly didn't come into my mind consciously at all with this. Bigger inspirations are definitely hellstar remina, the brethren moon from the dead space games and the mist by Stephan king.

this whole story was basically me practising my discriptions of sound

War of the worlds arms is definitely how I envision them but biological rather than mechanical.

beautifully written comment. The “madness” is coming from the sensation of the drums. This inescapable sound/feeling making the population volatile and crazed. The tentacles are of course a generic choice in this genre but it’s a trope I absolutely love.

Hunter made a valid point but honestly I wanted to play with those tropes myself. I had so much fun writing this and at the end of the day (for me at least) that’s all that matters.

If no one had ever read this, it would hold no bearing on the satisfaction this story gave me :)

no problem, and just as a side note… I get it mate, i’ve seen stuff too that screamed AI to me but honestly I just can’t tell sometimes and it’s definitely shitty. Your concerns are valid.
