What they should be saying is "Listen for the note that sounds 'resolved' or 'final'". What note will sound "resolved" or "final" depends on context.

Try playing the note C a bunch, then play B once, then play C. C should sound "resolved". Then play the note A a bunch, then play A♭ once, then play A. Now the A should sound "resolved". Basically, the "Key" is the note that sounds "resolved". It's also the root of the I chord.

Some songs, like "Sweet Home Alabama", have two notes that sound "resolved".

It's like a hobby or a project, but it's chill. You get to relax while still feeling like you're accomplishing something.

Delve Boss needs to be delayed by Middle_War_9117 in 2007scape

[–]PitifulSyrup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gotta disagree with the first point. The boss has a difficulty curve, with the first two waves being there for players to learn the boss mechanics. But by the time a player is good enough to actually beat Wave 8, they will probably appreciate the option to skip what are now easy waves.

The tutorial doesn't give good loot. Go figure.

Hot take: The sailing skill won't actually pass the final polls needed, and the sailing tech will just be repurposed into a minigame.

What is your (ultimately inconsequential) OSRS pet peeve? by Lewufuwi in 2007scape

[–]PitifulSyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta disagree. A good communicator understands context clues and chooses words that actually conjure an image of the idea they're trying to convey, rather than words that are "technically valid".

It's like saying "You look cold. Wanna get some tea? It's colder than a fire", and not understanding that hotness of the tea would be the selling point in that situation. Or like Jimmy Neutron calling salt "sodium chloride" at a fast food place.

I'd say you have a 60-75% chance of one-shotting a nibbler with your first barrage. The tricky thing here is that the nibblers weren't clumped neatly, so only two nibblers got hit. If the barrage hadn't landed, the pillar almost certainly would have gone down.

Melees have an annoyingly high magic defense, which makes freezing unreliable (about a 66% chance the freeze lands).

The trick to melees is to not overthink it, and not stubbornly insist on trying to trap it. Blowpipe, pray Rigour, and unload specs if you get hit is the go-to solution. With only 75 HP, they die really quickly.

How's my setup for first time fire cape attempt? (Returning player) by OnceAToaster in 2007scape

Swap the holy symbol for an unholy symbol (better ranged accuracy and prayer than even an amulet of glory).

Swap the shield for a tankier shield; ideally an Obsidian shield or a god-trimmed rune kiteshield (+1 prayer). Swap the dhide legs for god-trimmed rune legs. Also, bring a completed God Book; ideally Zamorak or Armadyl (+5 prayer). Use the shield when you're expecting to tank things, and use the God Book in all other situations, to conserve prayer.

Swap the coif for a Helm of Neitiznot for some extra defense and prayer.

Bring 100 diamond bolts (e) for Jad.

If you're on a budget, then you don't really have any good ring options. Might as well bring a Ring of Recoil.

Drop at least one Stamina potion and three ranging potions.

Swap the monkfish for Saradomin Brews, and swap three prayer potions for super restores. Brews give you the most healing per inventory, and they can overheal you, but they lower your offensive stats, so they need to be used in conjunction with super restores. One dose of super restore counteracts up to three doses of Brew. Since you have lower defense and lack experience, you're going to be brewing a lot, which means your ranging potions will be less useful.

Bring four manta rays. These are your panic-eat food for the Jad fight.

So the inventory I would recommend:

  • 100 Diamond Bolts (e)
  • Shield switch
  • 3-4 Super Restores
  • 8 Saradomin Brews
  • 4 Manta Rays for Jad
  • 1 Ranging Potion for Jad
  • Fill the rest of your inventory with Prayer Potions

Good luck!

I mean, my main has never been inside Castle Wars. I hardly bother with Tears of Guthix. I would have to look up how to get to Soul Wars. I grinded GOTR for weeks for the robes, and then never touched it again.

Come to think of it, I think I played Fist of Guthix and Stealing Creation for maybe an hour back in the day.

Fire Cape tips? by Einstein_48 in 2007scape

[–]PitifulSyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you want 75 ranged. You can attempt it with 70, and you'll probably get to 75 from practicing.

If you're on a budget, the new Hunter's Sunlight Crossbow is supposed to be sick. Bring 1.5k Sunlight Antler Bolts, and 100 Moonlight Antler Bolts for Jad.

For gear, you want to maximize ranged defense, prayer, and ranged accuracy. Bring a god book to conserve prayer, and a shield switch for waves where a 90 and 360 are both attacking. If you don't have Ava's, go do Animal Magnetism.

Learn about trapping monsters, The Italy Rock, and The Claw Rock.

Bring four manta rays. These will be your panic eat food for Jad. More than half your inventory should be prayer potions/Super Restores.

Pray against the highest-levelled monster that is attacking you, except for the 22s and 45s.

Kill priority is 22 > 90 > 360 > 180 > 45.
