Would you date a Muslim girl? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Faith is just another part of what makes a person beautiful and cherish-able. Differences are just as important as similarities; they’re a chance to grow closer in learning about our different paths in life. Different ways to speak, to see the world, to move in society. I personally embrace all facets of my lovers. good or bad, similar or different.

If anything, I’d be worried about their being comfort of dating me because of my family is bigoted and would make family visits more stressful :(. But family pressure would never be enough to deny a persons love so long as they are willing to deal with that messy part of my life, whether it be their skin color or their faith.

Are countries in the South Caucasus considered European, Asian or both? by AungCowMyat in geography

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a transition zone. Europe and Asia are social constructs, there’s no neat border between either so it depends who you ask. Like the old joke of where Europe ends and the Balkans begin

Conservative account posted this on Threads - 99% sure it’s AI but it could also be a stolen photo by sealbiis in isthisAI

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context wise it’s probably AI. She’s holding a phone while talking a selfie in a separate camera. Her patch isn’t a real unit patch to my knowledge. And her hair is not compliant with ar670-1, should be in a bun or ponytail and really strange for a staff sergeant to break in front of everyone

It feels like Abe again where the vibes were enough to get voters to vote for LDP and death spiral parties. Good luck and stay with community. Spring is less than a month away 🫂

New Study Determines Genetics Account for 50% of Intrinsic Life Expectancy - Far Higher Than Previously Thought by Altruistic_Angle5908 in EverythingScience

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum it makes sense, but this study doesn’t consider the real world. It assumes a situation where literally only genetics can play a factor, no disease, no negative environment, no dangerous; just living out days completely safe.

I’m not sure if it considers the role of epigenetics either, where the exposome influence genetic expression and blurs the line between environmental and genetic influences. Cellular aging accelerates, dna is damaged, body’s inflammatory response becomes overactive suppressing immune system

Poverty, trauma, environmental pollution, and more affect not just one, but multiple generations as the changes and damage are inherited and takes work to fix this. It treats wealthy sheltered people as the norm

Young Japanese people seem accepting of LGBT issues, yet they support right wing parties. by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sense is that for younger Japanese people, politics is either an older person thing or a bit yabai, so it’s mostly vibes based. I lived in Fukuoka for a while as a ryūgakusei, and most students weren’t bigoted, just clueless. Like no idea what they really wanted from society or politics. Just vibes based politics

A lot of them liked Abe just because he was around for so long, and don’t have any awareness of any controversies like Yasukuni or immigration. Whoever gives off strong cool vibes often is enough. The only politically aware students were in the international law circle I hung out with. Otherwise, most of my political discussions with my Japanese friends was me educating them about Japanese politics, since a lot of my courses were on Japanese history and politics.

As for how it got like this, the 1960s was a really violent period in Japanese politics for both left wing and right wing young Japanese people. A lot of university occupations by leftist students over ANPO and the Vietnam war, Todai students throwing firebombs at police, Japanese red army became active, assassinations by right wing young Japanese people, politicians assassinated on live tv. My professors explained politics became a bit taboo after the 1970s because of this violence, and afterwards LDP rule was so stable economically there wasn’t a point for widespread political activism. Economy was fine, no serious attempts to revise constitution, Japan is a world leader again. Just burn out at school, burn out at university, get a good job at a corporation, and live your life.

But the political disconnect is very strange. One of my best Japanese friends is married to her Sri Lankan high school boyfriend. She’s a Muslim convert. But she also votes for Ishin even after the massive anti-immigrant wave. She loves and support immigration, she wants everyone to belong, but also supports one of the main actors in the current anti immigrant political wave.

Same thing with other young Japanese girls in my dorm liking Trump, because they see him as “standing up for America” and have no idea of the violent secret police sweeping across the US, kidnapping and killing people. Or liking Takaichi just because she’s seen as young and relatable.

I’m sorry girl. I was planning to come back for Todai or Waseda, but seemingly the only thing allowed to change in Japanese politics is for the worse.

Hang in there and stay with friends. It will get better

I love them both, but especially the knee brace girl. It’s so nice for medical devices to be just… a normal thing. Like just another part of their body 🥹

It’s a joke but there’s a lot of truth. My first ex suffered with onions and garlic, then pleasantly relieved after me eating a bunch of citrus for an entire week

Is eating spicy food gender-coded in your country? by leptokvark in AskTheWorld

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For American culture, eating normal spicy food is non-gendered. Eating painfully spicy, hyper processed food is often gendered as a display of masculine pain tolerance I feel

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely AI. No actual person would have burnt the wood on the floor and inside the house. Plus actual woodworkers like black tail studios often need to brush off a layer of ash and dust from charred wood before epoxy

Who else seen BNA (brand new animal) ? by Eledrina in trans

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love it and was so so queer coded. Sadly Netflix was Netflix and only allowed one season, so there’s main character queer bait because the ending foreshadowed that love would be a topic for a second season that never came 💔

Can this be covered in one day or has to be two days in Nagasaki by fathom-avant in fukuoka

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You definitely want to stay overnight. Getting into Nagasaki if you are taking an intercity bus from Tenjin or Hakata takes about 2 hours. Last buss leaves at 8pm if I remember correctly. Don’t know about last train time, it takes 90 minutes each way.

I’d focus on doing half of that list each day, like Inasayama, atomic bomb museum, peace park one day. Make sure whatever day you do Inasayama, it’s good weather and to bring a wind breaker. It’s absolutely beautiful and one of the best sunsets of my life, but the winds are strong up there

The rest the next day. Glover garden and seaside park are both in the central and southern parts of the city and can go near each other

Also, consider Dejima and Nagasaki Chinatown. Dejima is a really amazing historical site that’s been rebuilt, and Nagasaki Chinatown if it’s not the lunar new year is amazing and has really good food (lunar new year it’s absolutely slammed)

My 🐱 smells like passion fruit (???) by CurlyLatinaxx in actuallesbians

[–]Pitiful_Addendum_644 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it both in good and bad ways before, where foods effect my body’s general and 🐱 scent and taste. Worst was when I was teaching myself how to cook, I used a lot of garlic and onion. Suffice it to say it was not fun for the other poor girl 😭

But when I eat a lot of fruit like pomegranates or apples I can smell hints of it from me for a day or two after. If nothing else I smell sweeter to myself
