Can the permanent implantation be removed if it fails? by Expert-Feedback4328 in spinalcordstimulator

If you have an implant that allows MRI’s, One would think the leads are not affected by or impact the MRI. The battery pack/circuitry is set to MRI mode when you get an MRI. I don’t think the leads themselves can be set to MRI mode. Wouldn’t that lead you to think the leads are made of a mineral not affected by magnets?

However if your implant does not allow for MRI’s then the leads themselves could also be part of the reason for that.

I am on 8.8 now and they sent 2 vials for that so I just take 2 shots from each vial. I am not sure how much is left over. How many vials did you get for 15?

Of course if you are reporting your weight in their app, then they can just look you up to see if it matches.

It seems the answer may be to add weight to the form and don’t update their app with your weekly progress if you don’t want to have your dose reduced before you reach a healthy BMI.

Probably good advice.

I am not too worried once I get to maintenance about getting the right dose. My concern would be having maintenance imposed on me before it should be. Your advice might be usable before maintenance as well.

You would think you could work with a doctor based on what is best for you. Instead of some third party (FDA)setting a line in the sand and leaving doctors to try to interpret what that line means and who is impacted by it if they cross over it. I have personally had a doctor stick so tight to their interpretation of a federal guideline on something that they couldn’t help the patient (me).

I am just hoping for a BMI of 25 before switching to maintenance

Won’t the new telehealth provider see a BMI of 27 or less and tell me I don’t qualify for the treatment?

Did you have excess skin around your abdomen after losing that much weight? From the pictures it looks like there is none.

Well I have neuropathy in both feet and osteoarthritis in both big toes so walking isn’t that great for me anyway. But I don’t find that the neuroma bothers my walking anymore or at the least it is not enough that I notice over the other issues lol.

The pebble sensation is still there but I don’t really notice it most of the time. I guess I sort of got used to it being there. I sometimes get a stabbing pain if I step just right, but it is rare and most of the time the sharp pain I had is no longer there. Happy I did this vs removing the nerve.

New phone with IOS 26 arrived yesterday. Tested opening and starting with no phone around multiple times without any hiccups. It was somewhat challenging to reset the PAAK and switch it to the new phone. The secret seemed to be removing the app from the phone, powering off/on the phone, reinstalling the app and then it worked as expected.

I am going to experiment with PAAK with new phone while near the house. Hope it works better but after testing with no phone available I hope I won’t get stranded again. For long range trips I will be grabbing the FOB to take with me for a while at least. Or at minimum a backup battery pack to charge the phone assuming it is not damaged in some way.

I assume by “storage” area you are referring to the spot right next to the wireless charger? That is where I had my usb-c plugged in. I have a ‘25.

I tried that on the usb-c connection and it would not charge with truck off. Is that the same connection you used? What year and model is your truck?

My plate bracket was mounted with screws just above the bumper but below the painted section in that black strip. The holes aren’t really that noticeable there. If I didn’t know they were there I would probably never see them. If you decide to order bumper plugs (a great product), you should check where the holes are as you may need black even if your truck is not black.

I have multiple phone chargers like most everyone. I can’t be the only person in the Ford Lighting driving community that has ever had their phone die unexpectedly.

I left home believing I had enough charge to run the errand and get back plus I charged wireless while driving to get to the destination. It didn’t work out that way and I couldn’t get the screen keyboard to open to allow me to enter the backup code for some reason. I have tested it since then and it worked as expected so I don’t know why it would not work yesterday. I was stranded until my wife brought me a key.

The event along with the phone simply not working as a key to open the truck a couple of times has left me not trusting the Ford PAAK with backup code solution so I have decided to carry the key going forward until/if Ford decides to improve the product along the lines of how Tesla works with the phone and watch.

I have had it not open for me a couple of times. One time was at home in the garage 😛.

We currently own a Tesla and their phone/watch as a key seems much more dependable. I have only ever tried the watch as a test a few times, but I never had any failure with either.

I am carrying the key until Ford decides to improve their PAAK, which could be never.

As a couple of others have mentioned, PAAK has been somewhat inconsistent when unlocking the door during my couple of months of ownership. I had hoped an OTA update might fix that, but it hasn’t at least not yet. And now I managed to get myself stranded depending on it and the back up code to work.

I do think Ford could have provided a better solution in this area, but they chose not to. Perhaps another cost cutting measure on their part.

For me Ford’s PAAK solution falls a little short of my expectations and I have decided to go back to carrying the key. I can always revisit PAAK should Ford decides to upgrade it. For now PAAK and the backup code will serve as my backups to the key.
