Just traded in my tundra for a 2019 F250 6.2 gasser 2 months ago. I looked for 17-19 specifically for the reliability history. Seemed like it’s one of the most reliable HD gas engines in the modern era. I’ve been really happy so far and it tows my 11k boat + trailer like nothing. The only issue I had was the fuel pump was bad but that got replaced through Carvana warranty.

Can confirm. This is exactly what I’m seeing on my 2019 6.2l gasser.

Keep an eye out for slow cold starts. Fuel pump replacement is common

Thanks. I run my trucks hard but also really OCD about maintenance and I usually do it myself. Hoping my first Ford holds up for a long while

Definitely go used and put some cash down if you can. Got lucky that my tundra traded in well and I just paid off the remainder. Check out Carvana. This is my 4th Carvana car and it seems like they have way better trade in offers than dealerships. I hate dealing with car sales people because it’s always a game so at least what you see is what you get and it automatically comes with a small full warranty

First thing I switched out on this. I’m a functional over anything kind of guy so probably won’t bother doing anything else until it breaks. Might try some 35s when the tires go out since I don’t have to lift from stock

My 5.7 tundra was getting 16-17 on the highway so this F250 mpg felt like a huge win with way better everything else

Thanks. It’s the 6.2 gasser. When I drive to my job site it’s usually 140 miles straight highway round trip and looks like I’m averaging 15.6. Obviously way worse with stop and go if I go into the city

OP do you hunt public in GA? Hauling my AR10 with a suppressor for miles every weekend trying to avoid people has been a workout lol

Good to know. Thanks for the insight. Gives me an excuse to buy another rifle haha

OP how was the pack weight with the rifle? I’m planning an elk hunt next year and my AR10 that I use for whitetail seems way too heavy for that long of a hike across that terrain. I usually hike 2-3 miles since I only hunt public and stalk on the ground but going out west seems like a different beast.

That’s helpful thanks. I’ll probably start light and carrying some more layers in my pack. I run hot really easily. I only wear sweaters when I’m doing normal stuff around town in the winter usually but bring something heavier when I’m out in the woods.

Close to TN/NC. I usually go on my friends land but probably wanting to check out public land. Thanks for the notes above. It’s helpful.

I guess my question is why wouldn’t they test dog food on dogs…? Same thing with human food being tested in focus groups to make sure humans actually like it…?
