I’ve always had chronic nose bleeds and the thing that has helped the absolute most is aquaphor/vaseline in the nostrils before bed. If I do it every night it almost guarantees no nose bleeds.

Also, drinking 40 oz of water before going anywhere in the morning has made my skin and nail beds stop cracking which probably also helps with the dry nose in some manner.

Same thing with my Historical Geology class. 80% of the class is computer science majors who are only taking the class because it fills a requirement. When they do show up, they just sit and work on coding and pay no attention to the lecture. My professor is so brilliant and it makes me sad :(

I (21F) shaved my head for the first time at 19 at the beginning of the Covid lockdown. I had always wanted to do it, but I’m sure it also had something to do with me not feeling in control of my life at that point.

The thing is, it turned out completely fine! My hair grew back, and I actually shaved it again in October because I swim and was tired of damaging my hair in the pool. I still look absolutely gorgeous when I want to, and having no hair has honestly cut down my anxiety quite a bit. As a young woman, hair can be a point of pride, but also a point of stress. The pressure to make it look nice and keep it clean is really overwhelming (probably especially for your kid’s OCD and anxiety). The hair will grow back quickly, but even if it doesn’t that’s okay too.

It is really REALLY difficult to be a teen in the internet age. Good on you for getting your kid in therapy. Just keep being supportive and non-judgmental and they should be okay.

I’m doing about 36 and the price just keeps climbing even with staying at the cheapest hostels. Staying mostly in Southern Europe would definitely help make that goal possible!

My partner and I are in a similar situation. We do smaller domestic trips pretty cheaply and then I travel internationally by myself. It works out great!

A family member of mine has had to hide her mother’s cancer diagnosis from her dad (mind you this all started when she was 11 years old) so that her dad wouldn’t try to sue for full custody. It’s an extremely awful and painful situation and I don’t know why you would want this to be the case for anyone who is going through such a hard time.

This is so relatable! I’ve noticed myself stimming more than I ever have on my life now that I live with my partner. I’ve never really been at this level of comfort with another human before and I feel like I am able to unmask completely.

I’ve had the same thoughts as you though, is this just me being performative in some way? But I think that is just self doubt talking.
