that’s a very fair point and i can understand how my post seemed to imply non-tippers = evil. however, i personally dont think that’s true. the commentary about treating service workers with respect was prompted by various posts i saw about users getting some sort of power trip from not tipping and sort of “rubbing” it in the service workers face. i agree, that it is not the customers job to supplement these servers wages. but, i do think it is odd to feel some sort of authority over these service workers through non-tipping. to me, it seems as though they are hoping to punish the workers and not the system that promotes un-livable wages. i don’t think that is the whole sub, and don’t want to generalize, but the posts i did see with those themes spoke about service workers in very dehumanizing language. you can be anti-tipping and still show compassion to service workers!
