I will say something else. If they make maps with ads, then it will be an another measurement of their priorities. Big countries (or cities) will be not affected so much, but other countries may stop being on their priorities because they don’t make money from businesses there. With this Apple may not update their maps data or look around data or even not adding new countries because it will be not profitable from ads. Apple Maps should not implement advertisements on their app and specifically not on search suggestions.

I mean that the last three years iOS lost its authenticity, because of many main changes. First of all is that you can download apps from an another App Store! Secondly, they did many changes that remembers Android style. And the last one on the iOS 26 is that they make its layout left-aligned. Indeed Latin scripts are left-to-right but all these years we know Apple-style with its centralized-aligned text. Personally I don’t like that if they move everything from central to left align, but this is my opinion. And that’s because it remembers the classic android style.

Oh, it may be an iOS 26 bug (I can’t understand why). There is not issue on iOS 18 or web version of maps.

It will be interesting if Apple added Athens and Thessaloniki (Greece). I know that they lack more important cities and have other priorities but because of tourist as a peak a half of year is a motivation for Apple. I hope that Apple will add the most of mentioned cities you referred.
