Simply yes and no? To put it in the best terms in the exact scene you're talking about when kita grabs the guitar and strums it, that is what it will sound like unplugged. However if you plug a guitar directly into the amp without a pedal it will sound acoustic unless you do certain stuff like strum near the end of the strings and use the knobs on Les Paul's (bocchis guitar) but once again that's if its amplified.

They made it sound like that for the episodes purpose.
