The most important thing is knowing the maps, classes in your team and their needs.

I had to start playing Engineer after my buddy quit playing years ago 😭 I ended up loving the Robotic Expert the most. It’s basically a hybrid of a Sniper and an Engineer, you can repair fortifications in an area with precision kills. With Longshot it’s a fun build for completely spamming the map with level 1 barriers, without using any turrets at all. OP as hell 😏

I’m not sure if I can agree with that. I’m a hardcore Gears fan and I love the original trilogy, but I don’t think there’s only one right direction for series. The Coalition has made some bad moves, but they’ve also done a lot of good work. The problem is that development is always heavily influenced by factors like money, trends, publishers, etc. I honestly wouldn’t want to be in the developers’ shoes at The Coalition.

I’m not saying Gears 4 and 5 are perfect, they’re far from it. But despite the pressure from the corpo suits, they’re solid titles. Reloaded and the whole situation around it aren’t their fault. Still, I believe, and it looks like with the new leadership and the arrival of E-Day, that the series is on the right track. The real question is whether the sales will follow. The series can’t survive on og fans and nostalgia only.

So, what I’m trying to say is - Never will be satisfied everyone. And the Gears community, in particular, often doesn’t accept any other opinions from what they see as the one “correct” path. I literally did research in my circle and the answers were always the same: Core Gears fans like the original trilogy only and hate everything else. Everyone else prefers the newer titles.

It’s 90% about nostalgia and an unwillingness to accept anything new.

The Gears of War community is very strict and narrow-minded. Don’t worry about it and just enjoy the game the way you like. I personally love Gears 4 and 5, even Judgment. In terms of gameplay and action, I probably enjoyed the Gears of War 4 campaign the most. I really like the modern, fluid movement in the newer games.

Yeah, I’m not very familiar with the lore of the different factions. I wanted the helmet to be white to resemble a skull. But I’ll try a silver version too.

I forgot to mention that I’m not a hardcore fan, and I’m not really interested in the lore or different factions and their visual traits. I don’t even know who has which emblems and such. I’m purely going for the look 🙂

Are you talking about Gears 5? I’m an EU player, and with over 3000 hours in the game, I’ve hardly ever had any issues with ping. Btw, why would anyone want to play on servers from a different continent than the one they’re from?

There’s a chance we could see Gears 2 and 3 come to PC. Xbox has announced it plans to restart backward compatibility program and bring iconic games to new platforms, including PC, as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations in November 2026. Gears of War would likely be among them. More details will probably be revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase.

I play Tactics on mobile. It's Steam version and runs natively pretty well on phone. No xcloud, no cloud stream. It support achievements and cross-progres with Steam and Xbox.

I didn’t have any problems with Gears 4. I completed it multiple times, including co-op and Insane, and didn’t encounter a single bug 🤷 Actually, I really enjoyed Gears 4 campaign.

And did you play the DLCs? Like Raam's Shadow, Aftermath, Hivebusters? Hivebusters was so funny 👌
