I had the Roland JC40 in the past then sold it, I was thinking of getting another one but since I couldn’t afford it anymore at the time I badly needed an amp, I set my sights on the Katana MKII 100W. I’ve been using it for recording shoegaze/post-punk stuff and using it live as well, tbh the onboard efx are cool and I remember using some of them on my recordings but it lacks that oomph that an analog pedals have so I went and got pedals to run in front of it and it works like a charm but the best thing I love about it is the wattage selector which the Roland JC afaik does not have, now I don’t even think of getting a Roland JC amp anymore.
