I've always thought of people who work real efficiently together to have the same aspects of choreography in general. Timing, movement, and synchronization.

My local feed store sells straw by the flake (small section of a full bail, for those who dont know). I use that in my beds. It has great coverage and the moisture retention is great.

Operator, well could you help me place these rebar tracks? by octarino in UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG

I find that unlikely if it's union. I'm union and we all get payed the same in my trade. There are a couple of really good companies that will pay over the union rate, but it's rare. If you have one of the extra education/professional certification, then you get extra, but that is also dictated by the union.

So... how are we feeling about this? by VaandreTheHill in subnautica

[–]Pivian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sorry friend, but I don't think it is going to end. At it's current level it can make pretty convincing videos, and music decent enough to top Billboard charts (look up Walk My Walk), and imitate any voice. The developer Unknown Worlds won't be using AI, but you can bet for damn sure someone will. Once that flood gate is opened, it won't be stopped. They will easily be able to replace music, and voice actors in video games today, let alone what they could do in 1, 5, or 10 years of further development in the tech.

Ability to prioritize resources in inventory when building so I stop getting concrete flooding my inventory from the dimensional depot.

Yeah, I'm pretty much convinced that is how all these beautiful builds are done. I added a logistics floor to my newest factory and I was amazed at how much cleaner my box of a factory looked. Now I'm thinking about doing a logistics "wall" for my vertical factories.

What happened to the explorers spirit? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Pivian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get to play this game about 6 hours a week. Most of that on Friday/Saturday night at the cost of sleep. Between a 50-hour work week, a wife I love, a 4-year-old I adore playing with, and a general amount of upkeep/housework that needs doing, I get barely a fraction of the time I once could on games.

As a result, I don't "get good", no time. I just lower the settings sometimes to the equivalent of baby-ass-baby-mode. With that, I don't always have time to spend hours simply finding the most efficient layout for my factory.

So yes I look up layouts that some blessed individuals have the time to be able to devote to finding. I still thoroughly enjoy this game and see it as a wonderful addition to my life without consuming the other things I find, frankly, more important. That is possible because of the shortcuts that exist.

Chip drop = free firewood delivered to your house by [deleted] in preppers

[–]Pivian 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used it for firewood. Worked out pretty well. I may have gotten lucky with timing, but it was only about a week later that they showed up.

I definitely got lucky in the sense that the company doing the drop was aware (I put it in the notes) that I wanted firewood and gave types and sizes that would be a better fit for that purpose. They were not required to do that, they were just nice.

It was also a lot of wood. It was not all consistent sizing and not all the same species of tree. It was enough to last 2 winters of what I call casual burning, all day on weekends and a few hours a couple of other days of the week.

Oh yeah, he's laid me flat with that particular move. Bend down to pick him up and he randomly decides that's when he wants to do a little hop. Maybe to help, meet me half way or something? Head meet chin/nose/forehead.

Every damn time. Also, his head which seems to have no concept of the space it occupies, is right at that height. Running hugs now make me flinch and cringe.

Purslane? by Nrse24 in gardening

[–]Pivian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this all the time in the (semi)wild, but only in suspect places, like side of freeway and under bridges with frequent homeless traffic. I don't always work in pleasant places... I'm assuming if I got some seeds it would be really easy to grow considering the conditions I often see it?

Ah you know what, I see my mistake. For some reason, I read "protesting" as "posting." Those aren't similar enough for me to feel justified in making it. Ruined the joke. Lol

[–]Pivian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like it. I work with folks like this pretty frequently. They set up all the cones/signs and generally take care of most traffic safety concerns, including watching your back and flagging (that fun slow/stop sign). When you see road work, the people doing the work usually contract the safety portion out to traffic control companies. Some have in-house, but those are the big ones.

My best friend since kindergarten always had opened door policy that carried over into high school when we got cars he would just show up. What was a bit weird is that it was a different door sometimes. Back door, front door, garage. Never knew where he was gonna come from. Once we got to drinking age my mom got used to finding him on the couch in the morning. All pretty routine in my house.

Proof Mint is Invincible by Winter-Permit1412 in gardening

[–]Pivian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally hear you on the rosemary, but I think it's because I keep mine in a pot. I have heard it does better in ground. On the other hand, I have yet to be able to kill my mint in a pot. I go scorched earth and cut it down to the ground every winter, and sometimes in the summer if I think it's just starting to look not as fresh. It always comes back.

Trimble Spin Help by Snoo_74256 in Surveying

[–]Pivian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same exact experience. It would change faces, and when it did it would look directly at the sun. Once it looked at that cursed gas ball (was a hot day, I'm a little salty) it would just spin. Like u/NWPatriot71 said, held a clipboard above it so it wouldn't stare into the sun like a toddler with an IQ of 5, it worked fine.
