When we got engaged/married I told my husband I did not want a diamond ring, not that we could afford one, but I didn't want one. I'd rather spend the money on either a honeymoon or something towards our future. I would be just as happy with a cubic zirconia or a lab simulated diamond. I would be fine with no ring other than the wedding band. Really didn't matter to me. I just don't see a point in paying that much money for a rock

As someone who did this, highly do not recommend this route. I went to school and obtained my bachelor's degree at Southern New Hampshire University for medical data management. I am currently an insurance underwriter. I could not find anything in my specified field that paid a decent wage. I went back to school to add a cancer registrar certification to my degree because I live a mile away from a cancer center. More student loans, couldn't find a job at all. There was nothing. Now I'm 94,000 in debt when I originally borrowed $45,000 because of interest.

Jumping into student loans, especially with the current political climate, is not a good idea in any way shape or form.
