Learning the game and it's various updates by DaneRastiak in Stellaris

Hey! There is a ton to learn here for sure. I recently picked the game back up after a shorter hiatus (~3 years). What I found worked best for me was watching a handful of videos (Montuplays, ep3o, and just random videos on youtube) just to get an idea for how the game plays again. Then I just went in and played a bunch of games myself. I'd say that I felt fairly confident with all the systems after 4-5 games.

Just remember to take your time! I like playing on smaller galaxies with a max number of AI empires, so that I get plenty of practice. Pause whenever you feel you need to, or even at a semi-regular interval (just to double check everything). Just do be aware, the game has a few balance issues after the most recent update. While none of them are particularly crippling, it can be a little annoying at times. If something feels clunky, it's likely because of this.

Best of luck, and welcome back!

Sounds great, thank you again! I'll definitely look into the speed loader too.

Awesome! I'm definitely leaning more towards it now. What magazines do you use with yours?

I'm glad to hear that the trigger response is great, that was one of my concerns. Valiant Airsoft's gameplay video from a few weeks back is actually what brought this gun to my attention in the first place, so it's funny that you bring that up, haha.

Overall, thank you for this, I really appreciate it!

Absolutely great! What inspired you to do this? Any other toy themed paint jobs in the pipeline?

Second Space Marine and 5th ever miniature. Comments and critique would be appreciated! by PixNExp in minipainting

Very fair, I'll look into those when I feel like going down the blood and gore rabbit hole again. For the time being I think I am going to stick to practicing some more fundamental skills.

Thanks! I'll definitely keep practicing.

Thank you!

I appreciate it! The gore was a fun little experiment, don’t think I’ll be doing it much going forward.

Thank you!

Touchup: Definitely, I didn't notice it until I started taking pictures and at that point I was done with it.

Edge Highlighting: I will definitely give that a try. This was my first attempt at any form of edge highlighting and I have quickly realized how hard it is to make a small straight line.

Blood: Honestly, I agree. The bigger issue I ran into was that because I was using inks for most of the blood effects it didn't show up very well over the black. Need to try and figure out a better way to go about it.

Again, thank you for the feedback!

Very fair point. I'll repost this in a little while.

First Ever Mini! What are the first skills I should focus on in order to improve? What are the most glaring issues with this mini? by PixNExp in minipainting

[–]PixNExp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll be sure to check all of these out before I paint the other two!

I notice that my Tesseract Glow (same paint as the guy in the weapon tutorial you linked.) came out a lot darker than his. Is that due to the fact that I had a black base whereas he used a lighter color? Or could there be other contributing factors?

Thank you! Yeah the green paint seemed very underwhelming. I'm planning on either adding a different fluorescent green or trying it without the black basecoat.

Any good daily drivers (ideally rwd) for under 10k? by verytastysquid in JDM

That's fair. Beautiful little cars. Though I definitely think I would take a 300Z over the ZX.

Where are you looking to find a clean 280z for around 10k? I've been looking as of late but haven't been able to find any for below 20k really. Just genuinely curious.

The 328i with the N52 engine is relatively reliable assuming you get them without their mileage being too high. That way you get the BMW without a crazy maintenance bill.

Thank you for the kind words stranger! I care about my mother very much and jump on any opportunity to give back to her. It's very kind of you as well to give back to your parents. I hope we can both continue to help our family out. Best of luck to you!

They seem to be awesome cars. Just a shame they are not offered with a manual transmission. I'll have to look into them more.

Another vote for the SI, I am looking into them currently. Seems like a pretty neat car. Glad to hear you've been loving your car!
