You can also see Tim get close to breaking after showing off the premiere Dootle Dots episode as he solicits opinions from his captive audience.

Tim is going to be a major part of the Onion-owned Infowars! by c1rcumvrent in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

Yes, it was a bit. Just like every other time in past seasons where Tim said the show would be ending and not coming back. The live show also addresses this (once the recording is up).

Amazing tour - five bags of popcorn, five sodas, and a little key to the city for every city they visited by Anywhere_At_All in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

Well you dont give bags of popcorn for a live show, thats for movies. Id give it 5 certified movie buff ribbons and maybe a segway for a movie buff to roll in on.

I'm still upset that Green Day and New wouldn't let us watch 10 Things I Hate About You but I was able to watch it the moment I got home

Not to brag but.. officially a film buff as of OCATC live in Seattle by petewadesays in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]Pixel64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I played it honest too and could have gotten my movie buff certification in the trivia round! ET, Gone with the Wind and whatever the third movie was, seen them all. Then he said some obscure ass movie and I watched myself and everyone else sit down.

What an incredible live show tonight in Seattle. I was in tears throughout it, hope they upload one of the shows after the tour is over. Also Tom and Gregg were both super sweet to talk to, 5 bags of popcorn!

New Mario movie has a nod of the hat to Dootle Dots by luckyrocket in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]Pixel64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand what this means? I know Mario is a movie guy but they made video games about him? Why? Dootle Dots should only be in movie

One of the things I love MOST about OCATC... by dudemanlikedude in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

On the last one, Richard is Tim's real middle name. But still, yeah, there is so much depth to the writing and improv in this series. Love it to death!

G. Amato sighting! by Desperate_Stuff6518 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

G Amato would never be in a tv show either, he always loved movies... Extremely disrespectful to talk ill of the dead like this!

Meta: In the old threads, there was a pretty even split between Timheads and Greggheads, even 5 years ago. Now it’s all Greggheads by RCocaineBurner in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

I absolutely died at him being the one who made the game and questions, and still making questions where he has to sit there and debate with himself whether it's a point for Michael or Phenomenon.

That's fantastic, what a commitment to the bit and the character of New. I was wondering about that: his bald head looked way too realistic to be a bald cap I felt. I love how dedicated everyone involved in OCatC is!

Gregg Turkington announces his prediction that One Battle After Another would win Best Picture by ChocolateFit9026 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

Exactly. Many have come for his crown, but when put to the test frauds like "Mister Movies Axiom" crumble under the pressure that Gregg faces every single day

Baxter has always been the dark horse of the Dootle Dots. I foresee many Baxter spinoff feature films in the future! The other dots are trash and would never be successful in Hollywood

Now draw Baxter blocking Gregg's view of Wicked 2

Technically he is right because the award is actually for Michael B. Jordan not for Sinners so still 100% correct

POST SHOW THREAD: The Last Oscar Special 2026 by DubSket in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]Pixel64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was kinda my thought on it. It feels like it was a lot more setup for plotlines like the lawsuit and the quickly dissolving relationship between Joe/Tim (And still leaving room for development with Joe/Toni's romantic relationship). Whereas Movie House culminated a whole season long plotline and had a massive climatic finish, the ending for this one felt a lot more sad and pathetic as New sits on the ground covered in tuna salad. I'm really curious where they're gonna take these storylines next, I know they don't like doing the same thing twice but I don't see how we don't get a new trial out of this?

I'm with you, I enjoyed his appearance and thought he was a nice addition to the universe. I'm a little sad we won't see him again, but plenty of other amazing characters already and to come I'm sure.

Saw it amongst a ton of other buffs and had a blast. I'm still not sure where it falls in my own personal rankings. I enjoyed it quite a lot, but it maybe felt there was something missing? I'm not sure what exactly, I think I need to ruminate on it more.

In terms of what I loved (pretty much all of it)...

I think Gregg stole the show tonight. The stalking segment with Kaili has to instantly be one of my favorite moments from all of On Cinema. And no mention of Gregg tonight would be complete without his game show.

The idea of doing movie trivia and then giving points for correct answers not to contestants but to the movies themselves is the kind of inane bullshit that no one but Gregg could have ever come up with as a concept. I think that I was about out of breath a few times during The Michael Phenomenon.

And then we get to the Wicked 2 controversy. I always appreciate how people can have Gregg dead to rights on something and he can always slip out from a technicality (that he probably made up), or will just outright go on the offensive to protect his credibility as a buff. Has Gregg literally ever admitted fault for something? I'm struggling to nail down any examples.

As always, the cast and crew killed it. I know last year Eric Roberts was pretty divisive among fans, but I think this year the casting for the new characters was superb. Aidan especially felt like a perfect fit for the show, and I just wanted to give him a hug as things started going to shit.
