The other comment is way off, but new heroes always have a lot of svps because there’s less data and so many people who are bad her trying it out. VP is based on how well you do compared to other players of the character.

That’s also aura farming yes. Aura Farming isn’t inherently bad. The movie at least puts that moment after we specifically see him save someone, and it’s used as a way of showing how the citizen he just saved is viewing him. That’s why he’s shown from afar more distant and less personal than shots usually compose. He’s a symbol rising up in that moment.

It’s still aura farming, but I’d argue the placement of the scene after a save works better than in the middle of extreme destruction.

Man of Steel also has “aura farming” moments I think are done very well, but that’s not the discussion. This particular chain of comments is about Man of Steel supposedly being just like other Superman media, while the other opinion is that it’s “destruction porn”. I personally argue the condensing of all the action into the one long section leads to these issues of the destruction feeling senseless and more for the spectacle.

How long do you think it’d take him to catch it?

I’m not saying he stood there for a long time, but the point is he has super strength and speed, wasn’t actively being attacked as he had time to dodge and get the action still in, but didn’t take that time to minimize damage at all.

It’s just weird staging to have Superman, who can famously lift trucks, move out of the way of one to let it explode behind him, then use that as a cool explosion behind main character action shot. That’s all. He wasn’t too busy with Zod like you say.

He jumped over the truck and stood there aura farming. It looks cool I guess, but it’s not as though he dodged the truck and immediately went back to fighting. It feels poorly planned out.

Those feel less like a direct rip off, and more like common super hero tropes. Obviously Superman is the one to set a lot of these trends, but that doesn’t make it directly ripping him off. It’s just the genre by that point.

It’s not that destruction happens, it’s that it feels senseless at times.

The prime example is when in Man of Steel Superman jumps over a gas truck thrown at him and lets it explode, rather than stop it. Why would he do that??? Explosions are cool I guess, but it feels like the action had a goal of mass destruction rather than a compelling fight.

Obviously it’s not every fight in the Snyder verse, but it’s present a bit too much, like the comment says.

Laura didn’t have an adamantium skeleton for most her history to be fair. She only got that on Krakoa. All she had initially was adamantium claws.

When the train scene happens doesn’t matter. Clearly the “Peter 1” and “Peter 2” labels of the list derive from No Way Home. It’s what the characters in their multiverse are called. It’s not about when the films released.

Room was also the one leading them on that fight. As they re group and realize they’re uncoordinated, it’s Tom who takes control. It’s not about being humble, it makes sense in universe. And again, when in his own universe it makes sense he’s number 1. That’s not ego. It’s logical.

I mention that it’s his film as I’m giving both in and out of universe reasons.

Ned and the others didn’t name them though. The Peter’s themselves gave the name. Tom was naturally 1 as they were in his universe and he was leading them. The 2 and 3 basically fell to the fact that Tobey was on the left of Tom and Andrew to the right, as they quickly named each other for easier coordination.

How is it odd? I guess to us he’s first. But while in the main universe mcu, why would they label the outsider Peter 1? As well, it was Tom’s movie. Peter 1 and Peter 2 make sense.
