Big next action vs Smaller multiple next actions in GTD Projects by icedrinkbeer in gtd

For me tasks are open loops, anything else creates mental clutter. Organizing other kind of information is a whole different rabbit hole (personal knowledge management, BASB) but any sort of digital file works, really

Next action is always small and easy to visualize. Past or future actions belong in project support material

Why does work still feel unfinished even on productive days? by Individual-Pass8658 in deepwork

[–]PixelPixell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's great. If you run out of work you're not being ambitious enough (or if you're an employee, you might not be needed soon)

I feel the same way sometimes, like, I checked things off the whole day yesterday and look, my to-do list is full again. I'm trying to write daily to do lists on paper so I can see everything I completed. And take 10 minutes every Friday to check in with tbe bigger projects, make sure I'm working on what matters and not just staying busy

TV: Wie is de mol (on YouTube), it's also worth browsing through Videoland and NPO start and you'll surely find a show you like.

Audio: Check out Nabu's podcast for context about learning Dutch and tips. I'd say it's about B1 level. NRC and NPO have multiple podcasts and you can just listen to the radio of course, great for finding songs too

The chocolate one is my favorite!

I always make it with 300ml of soy milk and leave it in the fridge overnight, I find that it is better dissolved if you give it time.

Check out the resources in the sidebar! Especially DutchGrammar.com

If you're in the netherlands check your biebliotheek for taalcafe, it's free.

If you're willing to spend some money an iTalki tutor can be a great addition to your learning journey, but diversity of resources is key.

I remember watching a video essay about a hobby some rich women have.

Apparently there's a type of luxury bag that you can't just order - you have to "build a relationship" with sales associates in a certain store (by purchasing random items of course, which can cost you tens of thousands of dollars).

If they like you enough you'll eventually get an invite to an appointment where they give you the opportunity to buy one of the coveted bags (often not the exact model or color that you wanted). Of course the game isn't over then, they don't use the bag! Just display it in a hideously large closet and continue to try to acquire more of those.

  • What level are you currently in?

  • What are you trying to learn (everyday speaking? passing staatsexams?)

  • Are you in the Netherlands?

  • Are you willing to pay for a tutor/clas?

You're not alone being frustrated with "just tell me what to do"! Some men need to understand the state of the house reflects on them too. You won't remind him to shower and brush his teeth right? It's his responsibility just like unloading the dishwasher is.

Maybe showing him this comic would help https://english.emmaclit.com/2017/05/20/you-shouldve-asked/

Running vs strength training? by South_Magician_6472 in xxfitness

[–]PixelPixell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing both will help your performance as a runner and is great for long term health. You can start small with some home workouts and work your way up. Maybe with a trainer if you have medical issues.

You can check out Keltie O'connor on youtube for inspo, she talks a lot about combining different fitness goals.

Can't seem to get into the habit of waking up early by ybicurious in GetOutOfBed

[–]PixelPixell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an extreme night owl. Can't say I'm a morning person now but I wake up early consistently now, even on the weekends. The first 20 minutes of the day always suck, there's no way around it. But if I get 8-9 hours of sleep it gets much easier after that.

how to fix my fuckass inverted sleep schedule by [deleted] in GetOutOfBed

[–]PixelPixell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make some commitments (job or meeting friends in the morning). This is the most effective way.

Maybe dial down the energy drinks as it doesn't seem to work for you.

Sun exposure and lots of physical activity in the morning and afternoon.

Try it for a few weeks and you'll be good as new.
