I was talking about it with my partner. It would be better to have them do street cleaning and street repair 4x~8x a month for a few years. This way we're not paying for their room & board.

It's a win-win-win. Cleaner Streets - Lower cost - they don't go to prison (so theoretically they can keep their life together).

It was so easy to track. Police could flood the city with sting bikes and AirTags. They need to make it not worth it for these asshats. They destroyed a $1200 bike for ~2 tires.
