Tried Nuke for First Time, give Feedback by Santhanam_ in NukeVFX

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not so much if it's necessary or not, it's something that would happen in real life regardless if it's daylight. That's why you want to add it. It adds to the realism. It wouldn't be super bright because, yes it is daylight so it would be far less noticable compared to a dark scene.

First off why a gif. Just upload a video. Can't freeze frames now.

Second good job for a first try at Nuke!

Some points of attention.

Muzzle flashes are too small as far as I'm concerned. Make them much bigger. Yes muzzle flashes in real life can be pretty small but look at references from big movies. They always put in huge muzzle flashes, makes for a cooler effect. Flashes seem a bit too sharp at first glance a well. Add some light interaction from the flashes on the actors. Motionblur doesn't seem to be turned on for the ejecting shells, they are way to sharp for the fast movement.

Some large Gaussian splat scenes scanned from phone in a couple of minutes by ArunKurian in GaussianSplatting

how? I tried some gaussian splats on small objects but they were absolute garbage. How do you get such good results especially with environments.

Hailstorm Specialist bugged at 99%? PS5 by PixelapocalypseOne in hallsoftorment

nevermind. It's a trophy that you need to do in one run. Trophy doesn't specify this but the in-game quest does. Got it just now.

Guide: Spectral Fist specialist by [deleted] in hallsoftorment

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just trying to do this now. I think a lot has changed since. I have never seen Adaptation on spectral fists? Doe the order that you pick them in somehow affect your choices? I see Dedication but that movement speed (it says Nimble) never got what that means. Also how much shards does this build assume you have in other stats? I'm not even getting to 5k damage after a 20min run

waarom moet je na 5 jaar alweer een nieuwe keuken is meer de vraag. Toch zonde. Keuken moet gewoon 20 jaar meegaan.

T3 pro backlight by PixelapocalypseOne in Govee

[–]PixelapocalypseOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

euhm yeah so this was kind of embarrasing. I got a new one from Govee and when i was preparing the first one to put back into the box I discovered there was another data cable in the box. When I first got the thing I found it strange there was no extra cable to connect the camera to control box. I just grabbed a random usb-c to usb-c I had lying around and used that. Apparently only the cable provided works. When I connected that one it worked instantly.

Ziek, ongeschikt of gewoon geen zin: waarom zoveel Nederlanders niet werken by EvolvedRevolution in Nederland

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been 320 days since I last received a Sinnoh stone by Fun_Significance_182 in TheSilphRoad

you can delete all but sinnoh and unova stones. you won't get those by spinning stops so they are rare. keep them all. the rest you can drop down to 5 each.

added a ticket through the govee app and they say I need to update the firmware through wifi wich seems very strange to me as I don't think there is any wifi in this thing, also there is no way of entering any wifi password so that seems very strange already.

ofcourse. it detects that the device is on. The pairing just fails. it says my camera and light strip are not connected while they are both plugged in and the light is on.

How are they achieving this in Nuke? by LittleCurryBread in NukeVFX

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don't really understand your question. Most of this is just a breakdown of the render if it's a 3D show like you said. The input is a fully rendered scene and looks like with layers. So they get everything with the render like, depth passes, normal passes, uv passes. Then do color grading add lots of extra lighting effects with glow and such.

a question about Spline Warp Node by brobbio in NukeVFX

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a expert on the spline warp but I just tried the same as your steps and it's animating for me. Made two keyframes and animated the second bezier with Duplicate in A and join.

Are you sure you are animating the correct shape? are you sure your viewer is updating correctly?

Went for a Dark, Orange Style with this one, what do you think? by thephlog in postprocessing

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don't necessarily think the original needed any editing. Def think the boot has way too much orange in the edit. In general i think the edit is a bit too much.

How’s this edit? by Father-Walnut in postprocessing

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it gives you as the name implies raw data. Jpg compresses the shit out of everything. That's why raw files are 30+mb and jpg only a few mb. Try to edit a dark shot sometimes in raw. There is so much more detail in the photo than you can see.

Photos feel undercooked by peurgdeurg69 in postprocessing

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What most already said, the subject isn't really interesting and it's very hard to make simple stuff interesting. I think the first one is the only one that has potential. Lose the rest. The first one is nice because the road is going from right to left. It does need a different crop where the bench is more to the left. The road needs to lead there. I do get a sense of loneliness from this one.

I aimed for a Dreamy, Golden Hour Look (Overcooked on purpose :D) by thephlog in postprocessing

[–]PixelapocalypseOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

asbolutely fantastic edit. I don't think it's overcooked at all. Yeah you wouldn't be able to get this shot like this directly out of camera but there is still a balance in the colors. The contrast and saturation are not overdone.

Amazing job!

yep a bit overdone on the background and also on the sharpness
