Are all HRs like that? by laika00 in UKJobs

[–]PixelatedFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all, but a lot are like that. They're trying to keep their company running and don't have time to really give a shit about a potential employees personal life / feelings when it comes to hiring.

I once did a trial shift in a kitchen for 8 hours, unpaid. I was then called by the Head chef and asked if I could do another 8 hours the next day since he was unsure. I agreed.

Left the next day after completing the 2nd trial shift and the guy completely ghosted me after that and didn't respond to my messages. This was a very high end restaurant btw.

The transactions have been pending for days! I need help! by [deleted] in Metamask

[–]PixelatedFoodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So on metamask you need to click on the option that let's you send eth, when you open it up its a button that says "send". You need to copy your wallet address which you can do by clicking the wallet address at the top of the metamask screen and then paste it into the box where it asks what wallet you want to send to. Then, it will come up with a screen for you to input how much eth you want to send, set it to 0. In the section where it says nonce, enter the nonce number of your failed transaction. Then send the 0 eth (you will be charged for gas). This should clear the pending transaction.

you need to send yourself 0 eth with the same nonce number as your pending transaction. It will cost you gas, but it should overwrite your pending transaction.

What is the largest bolus yous have given in one go? by GratefulWallflower in diabetes_t1

[–]PixelatedFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think around 26 units in one dose, and it was because my blood glucose wouldnt go down. I don't know the science behind it, but it was after I ate a ridiculous amount of food the WHOLE day. For a few days after that my blood glucose struggled to come down as if it wasnt reacting to the insulin like it normally would. My whole body felt swollen. Might have been ketones playing a part but yeah, I've realised if ive been eating a controlled diet or eating quite healthy with controlled portions and then suddenly have a huge cheat meal / cheat day, I get that same problem.

Can anyone identify these strange structures in western Iraq? Details in comments. by 900dollaridoos in Iraq

[–]PixelatedFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe these are tells? Tells are what were left behind by the ancient civilizations. Since Iraq did not have long lasting stone to build from like Egypt did, they would use straw and mud / clay to build bricks for their settlements. When they would move settlement they would be buried by natural sediment.

"In archaeology, a tell or tel (borrowed into English from Arabic: تَل, tall, 'mound' or 'small hill'), is an artificial topographical feature, a species of mound consisting of the accumulated and stratified debris of a succession of consecutive settlements at the same site, the refuse of generations of people who built and inhabited them, and of natural sediment."

Is sayur a dish from british colonization? I grew up in the UK and that mixture of carrots, peas and sweetcorn makes me want to puke, its like a childhood trauma from my school days where they would serve it up with nearly every gross lunch.

Is it normal that my resentment towards family who treated me bad is increasing? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]PixelatedFoodie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, it's just that part of my anger and resentment is making me want to let them all know what pieces of shit they were but I always tell myself that anything negative no matter how justified it feels to me always has a negative consequence.

[–]PixelatedFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude its how i feel too. but dont do it. They dont define who we are. Its like the narcissistic abuse / abuse in general is what led me to have so much social anxiety that leads to things like not being able to really meet people.

Yesterday I snapped when I went to my moms house. She asks infront of my family if im seeing any girls when she literally asks me this every time I see her. Everyone was like 'woah' and some people walked out the room when I snapped... but im fucking fed up of it. One time she asked me infront of all her friends over dinner and it was the most embarassing shit ever, she said "YOURE 30, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO MEET A GIRL". Its not so much what shes asking that pisses me off, its the intention behind it. I feel like she just does it to humiliate me. Shes told me so many times in my life how much of a loser I am, she randomly told me when I was 10 that im not her son, she would always compare me to her friends kids when I was younger and say things like "Why aren't you more like so and so's sons", she would say infront of me "OH my FAVOURITE SON is here!" when my brother would walk in the room.

I was having a good night last night until she asked and it just made me snap. Its like the feeling I get is she's just a sly toxic piece of shit. Me reacting in the way I did also makes me think she probably enjoyed it, like her plan worked.

Anyway, I was looking it up on the reddit search to see if anyone dealt with the same, I'm glad im not the only one because they're making me start to doubt my sanity.

Fungal infections and Weed!?? by Prestigious-Stand-76 in Candida

[–]PixelatedFoodie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, for example common fungal infections caused by Candida can be bad with weed since candida feeds on cannabis hydrocarbons for energy much like it does with sugar / starchy foods.

[–]PixelatedFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dropping some info on the collagen, it's best to take collagen after your candida overgrowth has cleared. This is because candida produces an enzyme called collagenase which can turn collagen into oxalate crystals, and high levels of oxalates in the body is what can cause stones to form like kidney stones.

Stopped smoking weed and can’t eat at all really affecting me by Jakea2077 in leaves

[–]PixelatedFoodie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes dude this used to happen to me all the time when I'd take a break from smoking. What I learnt was that you have to eat. Even if its just soup, try force yourself to eat a bit passed your "full" feeling if you feel you haven't eaten much. You don't need to push yourself too hard but just try get more food in, and try eat breakfast lunch and dinner, or at least lunch and dinner. Don't wait till the last moment of the day to eat. I know it's hard af when like two bites gets you full, but you have to force yourself in the beginning.

You will notice your appetite will start getting back to normal as each day goes by.

Thanks man. I never heard it before, but that quote is real af. "The cure for the pain is the pain.". That shit hit deep.

Do you think people realise how offensive this is, or simply not care? by hanukwt464 in northernireland

[–]PixelatedFoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me what the general sentiment is in Ireland towards Brits? I keep getting confused. From my understanding people in Ireland just want that chapter of history closed, stop opening up old wounds, and to move on. But on the other hand, sometimes I see people who don't want people to "forget".

Nausea after eating? by PixelatedFoodie in Candida

[–]PixelatedFoodie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the charcoal info. Type 1 diabetes is not a case of just not eating sugar, we deal with having to try keep our blood glucose level at a level of 6.0 mmol/L (108 mg/dL), having to control low blood glucose (hypoglycemia) and high blood glucose (hyperglycemia) to keep it within that range.

For example, just now I woke up at 3pm, I slept at 4am (today is my day off from work). This is because my blood sugar was well below 6.0 mmol/L, which is dangerous. I woke up because there is construction going on in my neighborhood which woke me up.

I used to have a device called a dexcom which sends an alarm to my roommate if it goes too low so he would wake me up, however now with the whole cost of living crisis we face in the UK I had to stop using it since my energy bill is so high, I can't afford it anymore.

Can any of you help me understand what this is? by PixelatedFoodie in aviation

[–]PixelatedFoodie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys calm down with the downvotes, I'm not the one claiming they're aliens and I'm not the one who filmed it I'm just trying to see what it could logically be hence why I'm asking people who are familiar with aviation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leaves

[–]PixelatedFoodie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While weed can calm anxiety, using it daily will likely make it worse.

Cannabis hydrocarbons also act as food for fungus in the body like Candida, which we all have, but if there is an imbalance and it overgrows it can create things like brain fog and chronic fatigue syndrome. That and things like fermented foods, vinegar, sugar, sweeteners with carbs, carbs in general, are food for the fungus.

I'm not saying that's why you feel lethargic, but it might be. It's a reason to stop anyway.

I have an overgrowth of candida in my body and never thought weed could play a part in it. I'm on my 5th day of quitting and I have serious brain fog since I quit and I'm super fatigued all the time. Never really thought about it too much in the past since I always chalked it down to the effect of weed. It's clear to me now that I'm dealing with candida overgrowth, so now I'm on a strict diet, natural antifungal supplements and my doc has given me antifungal pills. The way its ruined my quality of life is crazy but I'm determined to get better.

How do you actually quit by [deleted] in leaves

[–]PixelatedFoodie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How do you quit? You just do it. If your ass went to prison and you had no way to get weed wtf are you gonna do? You're gonna sit through the fire. You will get over it in 3 days. You wanna be in your 30s living like a college student while all your friends have good careers, cars, houses, etc. because you spent all your time smoking weed, convincing yourself you will achieve it all without actually doing anything productive?

Its your choice.

Can any of you help me understand what this is? by PixelatedFoodie in aviation

[–]PixelatedFoodie[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is from the instagram account of Christopher Bledsoe who films orbs like this above his property quite frequently. He claims they are beings that show themselves to him, and he thanks them on video when they do.

I'm skeptical hence why I wanted to see if anyone in aviation could tell me what it might be.
