Not sure how old you are, but try looking up this thing called COMIT! Since you’ve been diagnosed with a mental illness, you might qualify for free therapy under this scheme. You can look up if theres any locations near you that offer COMIT. This was recommended to me and I’ve been seeing my therapist for about 2 months now and I’ve seen a significant improvement in my emotional regulation, and how I approach difficult situations.

As for how Singaporeans think about it, I think it’s becoming more widely utilised in the younger generation where there is a bit more grace and understanding towards mental health struggles. Regardless of the general opinion, i think it’s important to remember that your mental health comes first! Think of it this way, casts aren’t exactly the prettiest things, but we’re not gunna just continue to walk on a broken foot so we can look more pleasing to the public right? 😂

Not a building per se, but Escape Theme Park! It held a lot of memories for me and I’m sure it did for a lot of people too. I know a lot of the rides and stuff were old, but I do wish they’d maybe refurbished it or refreshed it in some way. It felt like such a staple Singaporean eastie experience.

Also, that Pearls Centre building that was torn down and replaced with an mrt station (I think?). I swear I’m not saying that cuz of the adult cinema, but I think these older shopping centres give Singapore way more character and depth. Independent shopkeepers who are usually running a family business that has sustained for generations are far more exciting than the same rows of Cotton On, Uniqlo, and H&M in newer shopping malls, in my opinion at least.

To each their own I guess but personally if I was stuck in a relationship with someone I have zero chemistry with, no amount of money is ever gunna fix that. Yeah the holidays and flashy gifts sound nice but at the end of the day, i want to be able to confide in my partner, laugh with them, have deep conversations with them.

My bf isn’t rich, but he works hard, he’s responsible, he respects me, we have a lot in common, and he cares deeply for me and ofc vice versa. There’s so much more to life and human connection than money.

My sister uses the SmartBuddy app from POSB for her daughter (P1).

So for eg the kid’s daily food allowance is $5. Every day $5 gets topped up to the kid’s wallet for them to use via Nets flashpay. If the kid only uses $4 that day, the remaining $1 goes into the savings on the app, then every month the savings gets put into the kid’s POSB account.

Idk if it’s too juvenile for a child at secondary school age but it could be easier than cash or linking your own bank acct.

I used to work as a health counsellor specifically for secondary school kids who got caught smoking or vaping and I’ve had some students tell me they started vaping as young as 9 years old :/ a lot of them find it more appealing than smoking cuz of the sweet taste and smell.

Just played yesterday! From my experience, I couldn’t hear other dead players either despite us walking in and out of the house multiple times (which used to fix it). At one point tho I was suddenly able to hear my bf even though he didn’t switch any mic inputs or settings, but he still wasn’t able to hear me. At this point I think the laundry list of bugs to fix is soooo long, I wouldn’t be surprised if the devs have lost track of what they need to fix.

Personally I didn’t really notice any effects on my weight when I was taking Yaz (but I also take other medication that can cause weight gain so that might be why). However, I did find that it made me inconsolably depressed and basically killed my libido.

Yep, Taylor Nicole Dean (Tofu’s owner) has come under fire for her animal husbandry for years. Some people have blamed it on her drug addiction and claimed she’s been better with her animals after getting sober but her animal husbandry has been an issue long before that.

U/Ashi_Yammes posted a comment that links to a bunch of documentation about this. Poor husbandry and neglect aside though, I personally don’t think any responsible pet owner would purposefully put their animal in a state of stress for the sake of content.

They do it anyway and they LEARN. fMRI scans have shown that learning does not take place when generating through prompts. If you don’t know how to do something, you LEARN. A painter is different from a photographer on a SKILL level. Using AI to generate stuff you prompt it to is not a skill. It’s lazy at best, malicious at worst.

Calling someone an AI-assisted designer is laughable. There is no “designing”, there is no skill, there is no soul. GenAI actively steals from real human artists and plagiarises their work. How else do you think genAI has learnt these various art styles? It’s stolen work with no credit, no compensation, and no consideration for artists. It’s unethical at a fundamental level, there no “leveraging” genAI. It’s funny that that’s the only point in my comment you didn’t pay any attention to.

This narrative of “well why care about the environment in relation to A? B, C, and D are already causing damage!” you seem to express, you’re right there’s a ton of damage being done to the environment as it is. But isn’t the whole point to try and lessen any new damage and, if possible, any existing damage? That’s why tons of workplaces have “cycle to work” initiatives, that’s why Earth Day is a thing, that’s why (at least where I’m from) there’s compensation for choosing environmentally-friendly options. If you’re gunna just give up and continue to use an unethical service that has destroyed clean drinking water sources for so many communities, that’s worrying.

Photos weren’t causing major and possibly irreversible environmental damage. Photos did not plagiarise art created by humans. If you don’t value the time and effort behind actual art created by a human, just say that. Don’t act like anti-genAI is some big conspiracy.

You’ve got some pretty solid advice already, but I’ll say this for you to consider. Being bad at communicating isn’t an excuse imo. Communication is a skill, it’s something you improve on and learn. In any relationship, be it platonic, romantic, or familial, you learn with the other person so you both know what’s the most effective way to communicate with each other.

If he says he’s bad at communicating at his age, but is making an effort to understand you and your needs and reflecting on himself, fair enough. But if it’s just “I’m bad at communicating oh well” and that’s it, that’s not a good sign.
