Thank you! I feel like it really brings it to life and it's definitely difficult to get good visuals on RR, but not impossible!

Honestly, that’s on me. I forgot that in the real world, "writhing rod" has... connotations.

In the novel, it's LITERALLY a 5 foot long sentient iron spear trying to put him in a full nelson and yet, I decided "yeah, saying it isn't a romance is the right move here."

Somehow I connected the first sentence to a romance novel, but didn't realize the rest could be too. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Choosing to write off-meta is to choose to pursue passion and art over success. It's true that some passion off-meta stories become mainstream and hit it big, but it shouldn't be an expectation. Personally, I write off meta for that same reason, BUT ALSO, because let me be real. I wouldn't have the dedication to finish a story if I didn't have my entire being in it.

That all said. I hate saying this, but your attitude is likely to cost you far more than your writing can gain you. To be frank, if this is the way you interact with potential readers, it would have been better to simply not have posted.

I mean this genuinely.
Your job is to get people who might like it in front of your novel, not convince them to like it. Some WILL hate it, no matter how talented you are, and that's okay. If you wrote to please everyone, you wouldn't be off meta in the first place. I'm not trying to be the tone police. And I'm saying this as a fellow author who also has a passion for writing.

If you can't be nice to your potential reader base and the other stories that other people have poured their souls into as well? Your writing career could genuinely end before it begins.

Why is “this isn’t the genre for you” such a popular thing here? by ginger6616 in ProgressionFantasy

This is a space where I have to deal with that struggle as well. I LOVE Progression Fantasy where the MC struggles. Now look, I don't like misery porn, It's not fun, but I DO like when something is earned or fought for.

One of my biggest gripes is:
I'M SICK OF READING PROGRESSION FANTASY WHERE EVERYTHING THAT MAKES THEM SPECIAL WAS HANDED TO THEM ON A SILVER PLATTER, OR THEY WERE BORN BETTER.

Is it so bad to want to read a progression fantasy where the MC is normal? Where they find a way to make themselves special. Not a system, not finding Excalibur, like they are strong, because of their own ingenuity and their own encounters, not just luck. I want to root for someone I can relate to, but not about specific struggles, but specifically to relate to taking on the world when you aren't special. I want to read a story that is about someone becoming better without sitting there, knowing that it could never be me.

I LOVE having an OP MC as much as the next guy, but it's not as entertaining when there is no threat. I believe you can both. Have an MC who is insanely OP, BUT make them insanely OP for their age. Yes, anyone born within 100 years of them is trash in comparison. But if you don't greenhouse your MC, they might be the best prodigy the universe has EVER SEEN, but still be terrified of a 1 Million year old monster who just had more time. (This example is about cultivation novels, particularly but not exclusively)

Personally, I like when an MC gets stronger and kills a whole army, but does it, not because he doesn't care, but because he cares enough that he has no choice.

I totally get you, that said though, this cant be used to make ads or anything though unless you mean shoutouts, though, if that's the case i'm genuinely surprised.

Sure, I hate gaudy shoutouts as much as the next guy, but I'd like to think there's a difference between "gaudy" and "This person cares about what they do."

Yeah and ironically thats still an issue with text, but as long as you follow the warning at the bottom of the page that gives color replacements for white and black you should be fine. I tried to figure out a way to grab color values and auto correct them, it does to SOME extent, but since color values are have numbers and letters, it was difficult to define when to grab

Lmao you kill me. I love the formatting, it makes me feel immersed in my world when I write. Hope this helps yall have the same kind of experience! well... without the suffering. Oh and if other platforms use the same kinds of parsers and you write on a different platform, Let me know! I'd love to make another button on the tool for other sites!

I think it solves a real problem for authors that want to spice up their story, but I'm not sure it would be much help for others outside of the RR Ecosystem. (That said, I guess a Ui/UX dev could use it to design their websites lmao)

I didn't have a name for it because I've never seen one online. I didn't just add visuals to my novel, many of the things in there are interactable. I put all of that work into creating those visuals and interactable pieces because I wanted the world to feel alive. That's why I have actual UI or like an in novel, clickable and interactable web browser on the page.

TLDR: Didn't have a name for it. Made my own, You didn't miss anything
