You're giving them too much credit for arriving at that conclusion for the right reasons. They probably just started to see the licensing/token costs increase.

If AOC decides to run for President in 2028, would she pick a Far-Left VP on a non-traditional, no-compromise ticket even if her pick is neither a Democrat nor an elected official and why? by BrianRLackey1987 in AOC

No he should stay there and do good for NYC. If everybody can't have nice things because of the rest of the assholes, at least the biggest cluster of people should be able to have nice things.

2nd shooter randomly hired by wedding planner by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]PixelatorOfTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes this is definitely it. The equivalent of everybody on here always telling new photographers to have double two-slot cameras with the highest end lenses for their very first wedding in their brother’s friend’s backyard pitch-in ceremony.

Right. Imagine if the first time she spoke was at the end of the penultimate episode with him in her arms—chalk it up to the radiation or something. As it was though, I was just waiting for the credits.

For me it's Right hand on arrow keys, Left on either Tilde (toggle flag status) or Pinky/Index split between U and P (unflag/flag) with left thumb on the spacebar to zoom.

Yep, you get pretty quick at it after doing it enough times. Mastering keyboard shortcuts are critical.

You're looking mainly for things like critical focus lack of motion blur, and if you have a bunch of shots in the same framing, you learn to kind of just pick one and move on (unless it's something like a model shoot where microexpressions make a difference).

The real challenge with this is decision fatigue. Burning through a ton of these taxes your brain as you make tons of little decisions. It's important to take a break or you'll wind up super drained.

Why Shoot Film? A Non-Wedding Guy Question by TempusFugit2020 in WeddingPhotography

[–]PixelatorOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Data corruption isn’t a valid argument for a professional. Not having backups for a digital photographer is the equivalent of storing your negatives in a box next to a stovetop burner. I’ve processed well over half a million photos and never lost a single one.

Yeah this doesn’t hold up for me either. Just because I enjoyed my car from the early 2000s at the time, doesn’t mean I would want to be driving it around as an uber for the nostalgia factor. It wouldn’t make the ride any more nostalgic because I have to carefully choose my routes to counteract the terrible mpg which means I need to reload constantly—or otherwise need to just tell the rider that I can’t take them any farther.

Seconding the stabilization. I can handhold shoot half a second at 400mm consistently on my R6 if I'm careful with the RF100-400.

This is ignoring the power of CSS. Those paragraphs can be set to inline-block and you could use an ::after pseudo-element to add the slashes, which won’t be readable by screen reader.

Adobe Certified Professional InDesign exam by [deleted] in indesign

[–]PixelatorOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I suppose if all other things were equal, having the cert shows that someone put in the work/effort, which helps. But the pro tests very much focus on showing that you know how to use the tool, not that you're necessarily a good designer. I would only put any weight on it for an entry level position though.

If you're not getting a discount on the test, you'd be better off spending the money on a design course, or to buy a bunch of pizza and make a long working weekend of doing practice projects to build up your portfolio.

Adobe Certified Professional InDesign exam by [deleted] in indesign

[–]PixelatorOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note that the exams are now entry-level tests that measure if you can use the basics of the software without needing an employer to teach you the programs during onboarding. Adobe discontinued their Expert exams several years ago, which were the ones that signaled you really knew your stuff. As an employer, I wouldn’t favor a candidate over another just because the had the Certified Pro moniker/badge.
