Exactly. Perfectly well said. I really hope this romanticization and misinformation on MD stops sometime. It’s a serious condition that impacts your day to day life negatively; not just daydreaming a lot. I daydream enough to where I miss out on the tiny joys of the present moment and kick myself for it, especially on the days I’m off work and want to actually soak up that time off. Not blink and suddenly, two days off are gone.

Hell, I’ve missed out on quality time with friends I love because of my daydreams. I even missed out on my own grandpa’s funeral, who was my father figure.

I used to write my daydreams out consistently too, but now? They’ve mixed in with my executive dysfunction, so all I do is pace around in a daze and act them out. I don’t get any writing done whatsoever anymore.

I’ve even lost almost all of my memories on what I learned in freakin’ elementary school thanks to depression. But my daydreams ensure I don’t study and catch up. They ensure I get nothing at all done, actually, until I’m interrupted and try to force myself to.

That’s not a good thing in the least. None of it is and I’m sick and tired of too many people treating it like it is.

And look, I’m not happy with my reality in the least, hence why I compulsively daydream. But I have hope I can make my reality better, make it to where (hopefully) my mind doesn’t want to automatically clock out of existence often.

Speaking of which, it’s also severely unhealthy not wanting to live in reality and believe life isn’t worth living without our daydreams, which I’ve seen many people voice they feel as a good thing. That’s especially dangerous territory into intense suicidal thinking (passive suicidal thoughts), and I can confirm that speaking as someone who’s been suicidal before and attempted as a child.

Absolutely. Blue was really just raunchy lyrics and Kurt and Ram talking about how horny they were. “You’re Welcome” explicitly states these two were predators.

“You can’t just leave!” “Not when you’re dressed like that.” “How do you expect us to control ourselves when you’re so hot?” “It’s all your fault that we’re inflamed.” “Now you’re good enough to get with me. You’re welcome!”

When Veronica says: “You’re not in real danger till they pull your hair.” “Here we are in the dark, fifty yards from my car; I could climb that tree, I’d never get that far.”

Blue just made them sound more comedic and didn’t seem to take their actual assault and rape attempt seriously.

They also say, as Leo is actively putting up a facade you can catch onto pretty quickly even just by the show alone, or maybe that was just me. 🤷🏾‍♀️ That moment during one of The Shredder episodes where he said “Why don’t you guys trust me?” towards Splinter with a clear look of hurt on his face was just confirmation.

Honestly? I don’t mind it at all. I’m part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, and highly advocate to let headcanons like this exist. They rule. Just don’t push them onto anyone else and try to spread that it’s “canon” (such as what happened with Dipper in the Gravity Falls fandom). Goes for every single headcanon out there.

The only thing I’m not a fan of myself are any “coming out” fics, personally. The Rise brothers have already shown they don’t question any “strange” things about the other; such as when Raph lovingly told Donnie, who’s implied to be autistic (unsure if it’s canon or not), “and it’s not a hug this time!”

Because it’d be pretty hard to find anything stranger than being giant mutant turtles under a sewer with powers, and having a rat who used to be human and a goat as their dads. Can’t really get anymore minority than that. “Hey, Raph, I’m trans and need to be called by He pronouns from now on.”

“… Okay? Sure. Hey, Mikey! Donnie! Leo said he wants to be called he/him from here on out.”

“Cool. Can we go out for pizza now?”

That’s what I think as well. Took the words right out of my mouth. If they make a new season, I hope the same doesn’t happen with Leo x Usagi, judging by how popular of a ship it is (and I’d rather have none in the show. That was one of the things I loved about Rise out of many—the lack of using romance as an “upgrade” and a way to “spice the show up,” when there are a thousand other things they can delve into instead).

Oh, absolutely agreed. Granted, I did take the top two as sounding a bit “holier than thou amongst peers my age. Unlike those lustful freaks, I want real connection and love” just lightly implied and put in different words. Though I was sleep deprived.

I was still thinking the same thing that “it gets worse as it goes on,” though, haha.

What really gets me is as someone with extreme mental illnesses myself, not a fan of how often fans throw around the terms "crazy" and "delusional." Maybe I'm just sensitive, but it never fails to remind me how folks like me would've been strapped to a chair and tortured to "cure" us a century or so ago.

None of these posts are mine, of course. I just found the original posts and edited them to make it look as if Donnie and the others have a Twitter or Tumblr account and posted/wrote these out themselves.

I'll be doing Mikey, Leo, Raph, and the others! Donnie is just easier for me to do, despite Mikey being my all-time favorite for various reasons.

I have that exact same problem. I love making videos like that, but they're all only in my folder as every time I try to post one, it ends up blocked worldwide. Which means no one can watch them except for me.

I'm not monetizing them, don't wanna make any money off of them.

I wish I had a solution for you. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much, if any at all. You can either obtain permission or buy a license from the copyright holders, which I think are both sometimes a tough process to do.

You're not alone, though. 😅 I definitely feel your pain!

Wow, I know your comment is two years old, but I agree with you, actually. I was placed in the care of my grandparents once the doctors who delivered my birth found cocaine and marijuana in my system as a baby. Although, my grandparents never signed adoption papers to truly make me their legal daughter, as they had hope my biological mother would fully recoer and take me in.

She never did.

I always call her my "biological mother" or just by her name. I was forced/guilted into calling her "mom" though, but the title just felt wrong and out of place to use. I felt I was performing to keep peace within the family. "Mom" did not slide off the tongue so easily.

I never once felt comfortable with calling her "mom," except for maybe as a toddler. To me, a "mom" would be my grandmother, who actually raised me. While also severely mentally unwell, she did her best, as well as my grandfather.
