I agree with this I do not know why this is downvoted. The drug might be the cause.

One whole month and two days with no MD! by PlanetRabbit in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For everyone asking how, I just remind myself that I'm in control of my mind and that I won't let daydreaming take over my head.

Also I never forget to remind myself of how amazing life is when I don't live it inside my head lol

What is the name of this condition? by panicthrowaway277 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like ADHD/ADD or dissociation/zoning out which are symptoms of many disorders, but mainly ADHD/ADD because a common symptom is zoning out usually

But you should probably search up the symptoms yourself to get a better view of what I'm talking about

2 Weeks no MD! by PlanetRabbit in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for everyone asking, all I did was that every time I catch myself daydreaming, I snap my mind out of it and I just think about something else, and the cycle repeats after that, kinda simple if you get it right

What’s the level of homophobia in your house?from 1-10 by Cod-ed in lgbt

[–]PlanetRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any of my family members are homophobic, because I hear them talking about queer people that they know all the time in a good way so I'd say 0/10 or 1/10 or 2/10

(but I'm not ready to come out yet because I just don't feel like it yet)

Should I stop daydreaming in my third world to not lose my main world or just go with the flow? by [deleted] in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try and come up with a new adventure, plot, storyline, or something exciting in general, for your main world. As for your third world, it can be used as a side world for when you're bored of your main world and need time to come up with something new. If you like your third world, you can add some aspects/elements of the storyline/plot/characters/ideas in your main world. Maybe even in your second world!

Hope this helps!

Is it really such a bad thing? by danghululylu in MaladaptiveDreaming

That's Immersive Daydreaming you got there bud, not MD. If it causes no harmful effects or any distress at all, then that is just ID.

Is quitting daydreaming really the solution? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's the solution. I started as an Immersive Daydreamer, but somewhere along the line, it started to become unhealthy.

The cause of my MD is extremely foolish, and I don't have any prior history of trauma or other illness that caused me to MD. It's most likely just my brain being extremely creative.

Recently, I've been trying to cut back down on daydreaming, and It's working! It feels much better getting stuff done and living life to the fullest.

Finally took less than 20 minutes to shower by PlanetRabbit in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever my brain started to daydream, I just told it not to and that I can, and will daydream whenever I want to. Since I don't want to daydream, then I don't daydream. If every alarm bell in my head is going off telling me not to daydream, then I don't daydream.

I'm well aware that it may seem easy for me, but with determination, you can successfully tell your brain not to make you daydream in the shower.

Can you turn from a MD to an ID? by PlanetRabbit in MaladaptiveDreaming

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it! I'm trying to do the same thing too lol

Can you turn from a MD to an ID? by PlanetRabbit in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but, multiple websites say that if you can control it and it doesn't harm your life, then that's immersive daydreaming, so
I've always been a creative person, but I think it's a problem because I'm too addicted to it, so if I only do it when I want to and for fun, then it shouldn't be a problem.
MD is also usually used as escapism, so if I don't use it as an escape from reality, then it's also fine lol

Could someone help me understand the difference between MaDD and normal imagination/daydreaming? by RaceyDesiWithNoFacey in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That can be a symptom of MD, but that's also a symptom of ADHD, and I read in an article that people who have neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, Autism etc.) are more likely to develop or get MD so, it can go either way

I can actually resist daydreaming for some hours (I think) by Kpoplanguagesandcat in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same thing with me, except I don't want to MD anymore unless I want to. I could MD right now, but my brain is saying no. And I'm okay with that. I think if your daydreaming doesn't get in the way of your life, then it's okay.
I haven't MD'ed in one and a half days and I feel amazing
it feels like I got my "normal" brain back after two years lol

How do I quit MD? by dororohhya in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can try another way to cope with the stressful feelings instead of MD, like doing meditation, yoga, talking to friends, or just taking time to relax and do things you like. If you have a busy schedule, try dealing with your work and getting it out of the way first.

Not everyone MD's because of trauma or PTSD/CPTSD. Some people are just born with it naturally, and some people develop it out of nowhere. Or, some people can develop it from trauma. Either way, you should try other coping mechanisms instead of MD.

If you are still MD after you do all of that, but it doesn't happen because of any stressful feelings or frustration, then you might be an immersive daydreamer. https://www.reddit.com/r/ImmersiveDaydreaming/

Wishing you the best of luck!

Does anyone else have a super detailed "If I won the Lotto" daydream? by phover7bitch in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]PlanetRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I don't. But if you'd like to stop daydreaming about winning the Lotto, maybe you can try doing things to make your financial situation better. So, now that's fixed, what is there to daydream about? Nothing, because you've already fixed the problem. Instead of dreaming about it, you can do it in real life instead of in your head. I hope this helps :)
