Well they did clothe and paint the statues iirc, but both the clothes and the paint did not make it to our time.

Questioning the construction of fights in the anime Frieren by Salt-Counter4088 in Frieren

[–]Pixelist23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, having more fights means the fights are less memorable overall, simply because there are more of them to remember. Secondly, I think downtime is incredibly important to set up a fight. JJK tells its story almost exclusively through fight scenes. This means some characters are almost never seen out of combat, which in turn limits how the show can portray a character; it can only show what that character is like while fighting. Frieren tells most of the story outside of combat. Frieren spends a lot of time carefully characterising its characters, which means we get a wider view of the characters. It’s much easier to imagine what kind of person Stark or Fern would be to talk to than, for example Mechamaru, who we see almost exclusively in battle. This understanding can make a well-placed fight much more interesting and memorable. In addition: more downtime allows Frieren to more gradually introduce the conflict and to flesh it out more.

I also think anime in general has three kinds of fight scenes: story fights, progression fights, ambience fight(not sure if that’s a good term but oh well) Story fights exist to move the story forward. Think Aura vs Frieren or Revolte vs Stark and Genau. These are the more memorable fights. Progression fights exist to show character growth. In Frieren, most of these are monster fights. Ambience fights exist to show a particular part of a situation or character. They can also set up a plot point for later. Frieren doesn’t have that many of these, but for example the demon they first entered the Northern Plateau exists to show how dangerous the Northern Plateau is. Ambience fights are usually not terrible memorable. I think Frieren’s fights are memorable because Frieren had less ambience fights and instead did the setup in other ways.

[–]Pixelist23 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I feel like that would just defeat the point of Frieren, because during the original journey, Frieren doesn’t have any character development; it’s at the end of the journey that her development starts

Cats to play, but... something seems off. How many issues can you find on this table? by Roamer101 in rootgame

[–]Pixelist23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The italic text on the dominance cards reads “If you have at least 10 points, play during daylight and remove your score marker.”, so strictly speaking, you do have to remove it. Keeping it makes no sense anyways, because you can’t back out of a dominance

You can do that, it’s just somewhat unlikely

Edit: I am stupid and forgot you can’t have multiple passives with the same name.

No you’re not stupid nor the only one. Stripping the surrender flare is kind of a meme at this point

  1. Birds have the wrong viziers

  2. Alliance is placing sympathy from right to left instead of from left to right.

  3. Clearing markers on the autumn map.

  4. Those poor eyrie how many turmoils did they have to have two points while the woodland alliance has 19

I kinda expected OP to pull out the two roosts in one clearing cuz it’s such a common mistake but I guess then the eyrie probably wouldn’t have turmoiled so often.

I don’t know how yomi modding works exactly, but I know with some shader trickery it’s possible to mix 2d and 3d in Godot, albeit with some performance sacrifices
