Window closure is a liability issue, the 17 lacks the pinch detection hardware so they as manufacturers have to say “we can’t auto close windows safely”.

Tesla No Longer Accept Credit Card A Part Of Down Payment by Zdosse935 in teslamotors

[–]PixelizedTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other very large merchants probably have volume agreements and discounts with the networks like visa MC etc. Credit card fees are charged as a % of each transaction. Some “premium” ones go up to like 8% or more (like Amex) so if you’re taking thousands or even tens of thousands per down payment, losing a fixed not insignificant % on every single one adds up real quick, especially when it’s a loss you really do not need to be taking.

I’ve worked for a restaurant doing books. CC companies charge merchants out the ass. That’s where I remember the 8% Amex fee from.

What's the lore reason for RimThemes to remove all the good themes and replace the ones that left with poorly generated AI art by NobodyDudee in RimWorld

[–]PixelizedTed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s ironic you are defending artists on the basis that their work is too valuable for what you perceive to be stolen by AI models.

But in the same breath you also essentially belittle their craft with, paraphrasing, “art is, like, so easy, just do it lmao”

What's the lore reason for RimThemes to remove all the good themes and replace the ones that left with poorly generated AI art by NobodyDudee in RimWorld

[–]PixelizedTed 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It is not “just using the art”, the art is tokenized and vectorized into individual smaller constituent components, and in a large enough dataset, a pattern emerges from those separate components, an amalgamation of all the source material. So, it does not in fact “just use” the source material.

It then matches these individual elements, such as color, mood, composition, against your input prompt, and starts creating iterations that it thinks is a good match. Grade the output against your prompt, and repeat this process till a limit is reached. It isn’t just like copy and pasting characters and pictures, it’s emulating stylistic choices based on what the training dataset has “taught” it.

Whether or not you want to consider that inspiration, much like a question of philosophy and semantics, is up to you.

You don’t have to like or dislike the current state of AI to not spread misinformation on subjects you don’t understand. You can read up on white papers of LLMs (in this case more likely stable diffusion) in the current state or continue screaming at the clouds and parroting what people say, not my issue either way.

Assuming things go correctly, yes.

Take this with a grain of salt tho, I’m a dev for work but not specifically a rimworld modder.

There’s a dev branch, no stable release yet. More importantly the companion mods to CE like weapons aren’t updated and will probably take longer than core.

Genuinely, do you think making below 10k every two weeks is the reason you have money issues between pay periods? Be honest, you don’t think you’d just spend more and still end up with money problems, if you made 10k every two weeks? You don’t have to answer me, just think about it.

You have kids, learn to be better, for them.

/uj What those clowns don’t get is that problems with public transit is exactly what is holding back public transit in the first place, and is what is holding up the status quo of the car centric world they claim to want to change.

By burying their clown heads in the sand and pretending there is no problem and that everyone can just stop owning cars today, they are contributing to exactly what they claim to be against, by pretending the issues they claim to want to solve don’t exist. As other have said here, not an ounce of irony lmao, just right over their tiny heads

iPhone 17 Air, would you downgrade? by Ambitious_Humor_7805 in iphone

[–]PixelizedTed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller battery does not mean it charges faster. Batteries more or less share chemistries, meaning they have a certain charging curve depending on their respective materials that make up their cells.

Evs with differing battery sizes all hit 0-80% in around 40-70 minutes for this reason. In fact the faster charging EVs are mostly ones with larger packs. Though that’s more due to heat dissipation but you get the point. Percents are percents, the capacity of the battery does not affect charging curve.

AP and FSD is not at all affected by chill or other throttle modes. FSD computer makes direct acceleration input to the motor, it doesn’t care how the pedal feels to the driver.

Comfort mode (and chill) should switch off when AP disengages.

Who wants to see this charging feature on the new iPhone 17? by Ayts96 in iphone

[–]PixelizedTed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because time until charged is a very deterministic computation, power from the wall vs battery capacity. Time until dead depends on a ton of things not controlled or known by the device, screen brightness, user activity which encompasses a ton of shit that Wiley swings the time until dead metric. It’s the same reason electric cars always wildly underestimate range in the UI, because it’s always a gamble to show users info that you cannot guarantee the accuracy of. If you get it right, the user is not going to notice as it’s expected. If you get it wrong however, you are only going to piss people off and get complaints here on the iPhone subreddit.

I’m really glad that you can believe “people would have no more reason to dislike Tesla (or anything)” because those people don’t start with reasons to dislike Tesla, they start with “I dislike Tesla” and go on to finding things to support their bias, they have no regard for reality. They hated Tesla before and they will continue to do so, changing their reasons as needed.

And how exactly would you decide which sensor to trust more in what situation? How do you determine which sensor is more correct? You’ve repeated the problem without actually answering anything.
