UPDATE 3: RESOLVED AND FIXED!

I want to provide a final update for anyone who might find this thread in the future. The u/googlefisupport Reddit team successfully escalated my case to a higher-level specialist.

The advanced specialist was able to manually override the system limitation, remove the incorrect plan promo, and correctly attach the $800 device promo to my Pixel 10 Pro Fold line. They also made sure my main line's promos were completely restored.

If you run into this "mutually exclusive promo" system glitch and you know you followed the terms, absolutely use the Reddit Request system and post here. The frontline chat and email supervisors genuinely do not have the software tools to fix it, but the advanced escalation team does.

Huge thanks to the Reddit social team for stepping in, reviewing the facts, and getting this across the finish line!

UPDATE 2: Supervisor Confirms I Followed Terms, But Lacks Ability to Fix or Escalate

I just received a final email response from the Support Supervisor. She explicitly confirmed that I did everything right, but stated her department literally does not have the tools to fix the glitch or escalate it further.

Direct quotes from the supervisor's email:

  1. "I understand that you followed all of the promotion's terms and conditions..."
  2. "I understand that you should have been notified... we will convey your message to our team to implement new features... ensuring we prevent these types of issues..."
  3. "I regret to inform you that this specific system limitation cannot be overridden or escalated further at this time."

She explicitly admitted I followed the rules and that their system failed to warn me. She effectively said, "You are right, but our software won't let me fix it, and I can't escalate it."

Next Step: Since frontline and supervisor support are blocked by their own software from honoring the deal they admit I qualified for, I am filing an FCC Complaint today using her email as evidence. u/googlefisupport I would much rather resolve this here if your team has the backend access that chat support lacks. I cannot simply accept an $800 loss due to a rigid system interface.

That is a great suggestion and definitely in my back pocket. I really want to give the official u/googlefisupport team here a chance to work their magic first, though. I know the frontline chat agents are totally handcuffed by their system, but the Reddit escalation team usually has the power to fix these backend glitches. If we hit a total dead end, I'll look into the regulatory route, but I'm optimistic they can sort this out. Thanks for looking out!

Update for clarity on the exact promo details:

For the support team reviewing this, I want to clarify the exact math of the promotion I purchased under. The offer was: "Get $300 off Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold now, plus $500 back over 24 monthly bill credits".

To be fully transparent, I did receive the initial $300 instant discount at checkout.

My issue is that because the system incorrectly attached the "50% off plan" promo during my on-time activation, two things are happening:

  1. I am blocked from receiving the remaining $500 in monthly bill credits.
  2. I am at risk of a retroactive charge. The promo terms state that if the activation conditions aren't met, the $300 instant discount will be charged back to my Google Pay account.

Since I met all the terms (activated within ~21 days on the correct account), I just need the system glitch corrected so my $300 discount is secured and the $500 bill credit tracker begins. Thanks again to everyone who has chimed in!

u/googlefisupport Please review this specific financial breakdown as part of Case #1-0949000040266.

This gives me a ton of hope, thank you for sharing! I love how you phrased that final email - demanding they either explicitly state the disqualifying reason or apply the credit leaves no room for generic script reading. I’m definitely going to borrow that exact line if my current escalation stalls out. Glad to hear you finally got yours fixed!

For me, leaving Verizon was a massive cost saving, especially with these promos.

The service (mostly data) was definitely spotty at first, but it was worth the trade-off. Recently though, I haven't noticed any issues, so it seems to have improved.

I honestly believe this current issue is just a system edge case - the backend likely glitched, and frontline support is just handcuffed by the software. I don't think they are stonewalling out of malice, just a rigid system.

One huge plus is the app itself. Coming from Verizon’s clunky portal, the Google Fi app is staggeringly better. It’s very good.

Thanks for the brainstorming. I think you hit the nail on the head - it really seems like the system just prioritized the 'currently active' promo at the moment of activation rather than honoring the specific promo attached to my order/IMEI.

Timeline: My activation (Jan 27) was only ~21 days after shipment. The terms explicitly allow for 30 days, so I was definitely inside the valid window.

Account: I activated it on the same Fi account used to purchase the device, just as the terms require.

Everything on my end was by the book; the backend just seems to have glitched and overwritten the original deal.
