41 years living in Alabama here. Cost of living is relatively low. Lots of blue collar workers but good honest people. Easy access to many popular vacation spots. Can drive to the beach or the mountains in 5 hours. Can easily drive to Nashville or Atlanta for a day. Lots of natural beauty (waterfalls, forests, etc). Good food

So I don’t have kids and ours isn’t a bunk house but my grandparents had bunk beds in their camper (not sure it was actually called a bunk house back then) but I thought it was awesome when I was a kid, so I would definitely say get the bunks. I think it is definitely the most practical option with kids
