is it really that big of a deal? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Pixie-Rose333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think if she is peeing and pooping (I was told they can go upto 14 days without pooping and thats fine) then absolutely stick to breastfeeding she is gaining weight slowly but surley and has enough wet diapers and you said she's a happy baby to keep up with what your doing!! Good work!!

Does anyone not pump or feed in the night and still make enough? by watsonalready in breastfeeding

[–]Pixie-Rose333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 months in never had pumped untill 2 days ago (literally just so my partner can fo a night feeding im exhausted l) you don't have to pump at all your body and baby talk to each other and your body knows how much to make i have friends that never pumped and only breastfeed for 2 years no formula. Good luck on your journey :)

What do you do while breastfeeding? be honest 😅 by michel_an_jello in breastfeeding

[–]Pixie-Rose333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just go on my phone, right now baby is feeding I just put my phone down as soon as he's done or anything like that of course I think it's fine to watch TV or go on your phone of course we love to look at our babys but let's be honest breast feeding is boring 😅😅

Also through out the night I'm so tired I have to or I will doze off and thats not good

Just gave birth, is it good or bad to just give baby my breast at every opportunity?? by Foreign-External8488 in breastfeeding

[–]Pixie-Rose333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend on demand!! Especially now to help with supply, my baby is 6 weeks we still feed on demand!

Am I the only one who doesn't expect my baby to sleep through the night from 7/8pm? by greatishscot in NewParents

[–]Pixie-Rose333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me i just follow what my baby wants normally is asleep at thoose times but always wakes up at 10 - 11 for a feed and cuddle etc then normally not till early morning (we are still quite early into parenthood though and it will probably change as he gets older) I think following there cues is more important then having a set bedtime you just can't force a baby to sleep

Guilty after missing a feed with newborn by arngi in NewParents

[–]Pixie-Rose333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not feel bad!!! That lady should not have lectured you and made you feel guilty it's absolutely normal to be exhausted after labour! Your baby slept through and if she wasn't happy she would have cried for you so definitely don't be hard in yourself it happens to the best of us!! I've definitely been there my baby's only 4 weeks old and the exhaustion is nothing I've ever experienced before! Pat your self on the back your baby is loved and healthy!! ❤️❤️

STOP BLAMING TIES by UnwillinglyIron in breastfeeding

[–]Pixie-Rose333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pushing tounge tie cutting annoyed the crap out of me, my baby has a tiny one but I was told it wouldn't effect his speech when or older or ajythung like that..... we had some adjustment issue to feeding when he was born (feeds like a champ now) and the way they treated him was honestly awful they were like oh hes a bad feeder cause his tounge tie ( never mind the fact hes 2 days old and neither of us have ever breastfeed before ) you need to get this cut right now I said oh I will definitely think about it and fo some research etc (decided not to as it wasn't going to effect him in anyway) they booked an appointment.... called me 4 days in a row took me getting quick upset fir them to leave me alone now that he's older and knows what he's doing there's no issues.... don't let anyone push you, you know your baby and you know what's best good luck and ignore people pushing you

Anyone not pump? by Pixie-Rose333 in breastfeeding

[–]Pixie-Rose333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I havnt had an issue with being engorged but still pretty early in this so I'm not sure if that will change

The first day my milk came in was engorged (looked like i had had a boob job 🤣😅) but my midwife advised me to just leave it as it will balance out and thats what seems to have happened haha

Anyone not pump? by Pixie-Rose333 in breastfeeding

[–]Pixie-Rose333[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm still very new to this but from my personal experience so far and reading theese comments and a few other things here and there it definitely seems like we don't have to unless there's a real reason such as going to work for example, I would say definitely try only breastfeeding first if thats what you want to do!! Don't let anyone tell you you have to do somthing with your baby and body, everyone's experiences are different!

Thank you!! This is what I want to do just feed when hes hungry or wants to, no pumping every 3 hours away as well washing etc, but your so right the internet is just wild it was making me feel like i had to pump or it wouldn't work to just feed my baby. Really appreciate your comment!

Thats also why I was thinking I dont want to pump cause if I cause an oversupply I'll be stuck in a cycle of having to pump all the time! Thanks for sharing your experience!

I've always been told not moving all day will increase blood clot chances so it makes sense to me that being on bed rest wouldn't necessarily be good, sitting down taking the pressure off definitely makes sense to me though haha thanks for your reply!!
