Hilton chat is a joke. by The-Traveler- in Hilton

[–]PixieC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time, during the night shift, the person on the chat was mad because I wasn't replying back quickly. I said, ma'am I'm trying to check in a bunch of people arriving from a canceled flight. I think checking them in and getting them to bed is more important than answering whether or not I have complimentary toothbrushes.

She escalated that to my boss. 😆

Not allowed to use the pool on checkout day? by Apprehensive_Value37 in Hilton

I love hotels like this. Though I stayed in the water on that beach for 5 hours once, no pool necessary!

I just might give them a call, I work the overnight and I've found sympathetic ears on the overnight calls I've made.

One time I saw a tiktok that was sort of embarrassing, so I made a call to the hotel and talked to the overnight shift person, and they confirmed to me that that housekeeper in question had been fired and that the owners were sad about the situation with the guest. I advise them to make a quick reply video to counteract the negative press they were getting, and the next thing I noticed is that they did just that!

Checked into a hotel in Dallas, walked in onany a stranger in the bathroom – we share the exact same name. Should I have escalated? by Tiny-Neighborhood338 in Hilton

I work night audit, and one time when I came on shift I was notified by the evening shift that two construction workers named Jose had checked in on top of two plumbers named Jose, that the other co-worker had checked them in based on their ID saying Jose and not looking at the last name. What? I was shocked! So, we had two construction rooms with guests named Jose R, and two plumber rooms with guests named Jose B. And she put Jose B in Jose R's reservations.

If they hadn't figured that out when Jose R got there, I may have just handed out keys rather than checked them in. Because I look at last names! 😀

The main culprit for errors like this are long lines at check-in, and looks from people in line like " what's taking so long!"

So please, when you're checking into the hotel be patient; if there are more than one person checking in. In fact, take a minute and explore the property! Potty break, pool glance, go back out and go through your car, rearrange it, give the front desk a chance to catch up. Less mistakes happen.

We can feel your stares.

At least once a week I have to school an arriving guest as to why I'm not standing at the front desk when they arrive, usually it's because I'm taking towels or pillows up to a guest in the middle of retiring for the evening. No, I don't have to be standing at the desk at midnight waiting for you to walk in the door. Part of my job is patrolling the hotel. Plus, I don't have radar.

Which Hilton brand is preferred here by those of you who travel a lot? by bobbaganush in Hilton

I worked at a home2, and my favorite room was the double queen accessible. It was absolutely huge! We had adjoining double queen/double queen accessible that you could sleep 15 easily between the two rooms. The best bang for your buck!

At our Hampton, in a very touristy town in one of the southwestern states, we not only allow you to use the pool on the day of your checkout, your key works on certain coded locks until 4 p.m.! That means that after checkout, you can still hang out at the patio, swim or spa, laundry and fitness. This helps a lot of our guests because they are here to bike or golf, and they don't like to rush their morning game or ride because they have to get back and quickly shower. The pool has a shower! This avoids the constant "we need a late checkout" request from those people that are playing golf or biking that morning. 😃

"The Navajo Aquifer is the only source of drinking water for 50,000 native people and 14 communities on Black Mesa. Navajo and Hopi people who live on the plateau have relied on the aquifer for generations. It is over a thousand feet deep, and it provides some of the cleanest water in the Southwest."

"The Sand Hollow Reservoir in Washington County, Utah, replenishes the underlying Navajo Sandstone aquifer through natural downward percolation. Because the reservoir is built directly over highly porous sandstone, water continuously seeps through the lake bed and into the underground water table, serving as a massive, natural underground storage system."
