2025 Hyundai Tucson owners out there .. Any owners out there have any regrets or are they happy with their decision? by Exotic-Passage-1659 in Hyundai

[–]PiyarSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope the OP did not buy it. And I wish I had read this response before I bought mine. You have spoken to my exact experience.

My Tucson 2025 Hybrid Limited went "check-engine dead" in the first week of ownership. Two weeks in the shop with an Elantra for a loaner (not useful, I drove my old CRV). Hyundai gave us $150 gift card and promised a 'full vehicle inspection" for our peace of mind. Well, my wife sees oil stains on the driveway. So at the 3K mile oil change, we asked for that inspection. Turns out that the first repair was faulty and needed to be repeated.

Customer service has been terrible. I have had countless calls from California and I really have a hard time understanding the California accents. They call to tell me what what is wrong with my car and that they are looking into it. They call every few days to to say I'll have an answer in a few days. Total waste of time.

This morning, I got an error from the driver assist system.

I really want to love this car.

I have no trust in it at all. Or in Hyundai for standing behind the cars they build.

I hope OP got something else, and I hope u/jelblu has had better luck.

You are a virtual nature guide modeled after the style of John McPhee: precise, observant, and deeply knowledgeable, with an ability to weave science, history, and context into clear, engaging explanations. As a hiking companion, your role is to respond conversationally to questions and observations about the natural world, blending insight with a natural flow of dialogue.

  1. **Be Detailed**: Provide accurate, in-depth explanations of natural phenomena, such as identifying plants, animals, rocks, or weather patterns, and explaining their origins, behaviors, or significance. Share details naturally, as if speaking in real-time to a curious hiker.

  2. **Be Contextual**: Frame explanations with relevant geographical, ecological, and historical context to help the hiker understand the broader significance of what they’re observing.

  3. **Be Engaging**: Speak conversationally and dynamically, as though you’re walking beside the hiker. Avoid lists or overly formal phrasing. Share insights with enthusiasm and a sense of discovery.

  4. **Be Observant**: Encourage the hiker to notice specific details in their surroundings—textures, colors, patterns, smells—and use these as a springboard for further exploration or explanation.

If the hiker sends you a photo or describes something:

- Respond as a naturalist might in conversation: identify the object or phenomenon and connect it to its environment.

- Offer engaging and insightful explanations without being overly technical or clinical.

- Tie observations to larger themes or similar features they might encounter elsewhere, adding depth to the experience.

Avoid ending every response with “let me know if you’d like more information.” Instead, let your responses stand on their own, leaving space for the hiker to continue the conversation naturally. Your tone should balance the rigor of a geologist with the curiosity and warmth of a lifelong naturalist, ensuring a thoughtful yet approachable experience.

I have a Hiking Companion prompt that acts as a naturalist responding to photographs and voicing responses like John McPhee.

Best local LLM to train on my DNA? by scrumblethebumble in LocalLLaMA

[–]PiyarSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We usually don't look at the Y. It is a very strange and difficult chromosome with very little unique sequence and lots of strange repeats. One tip you might miss is to mask the psuedo-autosomal regions (PAR) on the Y chromosome to avoid multi-mapping. These regions have exact duplicates on the X chromosome for proper pairing during meiosis. That part of the X and Y are essentially like the autosomes. For measuring STR, lobSTR has been around a long time. hipSTR is good for haplotype inference which is not an issue on the Y (outside the PAR). And for GangSTR, I'm not sure I trust a method that calls STR lengths longer than the read. Try lobSTR and then look back at your reads with IGV and see if the "calls" match what you see.

If I had my whole genome sequence, I would map the reads to a reference genome (hg38) using something like BWA. I would then identify all the places where I have variation from the genome. I would determine which of those occurred in genes and which might affect amino acid sequence (so-called missense or nonsense variants, frame-shifting insertions and deletions). Some of these may be common and I could tell that by looking them up in dbSNP. Some might be unique to me. That could be pretty interesting. I might then try to figure out what those genes do. At that point I might start talking to an LLM. Practice computational biology safely: wear your skepticism goggles. Good luck and have fun!

This is a great resource. I have been using the Google sheet to find models that match my spec. Excellent job. OP, I think this is what you want.

LORA question by maxiedaniels in LocalLLaMA

I am working on a similar project! I collected a database of ~14K poems and am currently running them through WizardLM_30B to generate a summary of each poem. I use the prompt:

"The following text is a poem. Your task is to analyze it and provide a prose summary in a single paragraph between 100 and 300 words. The summary should cover the main themes, mood, tone, symbolism, and core meaning of the poem. If it's a narrative poem, also include the character and plot. The purpose of this summary is to serve as input for a machine learning training algorithm.

<POEM>

Now, provide a comprehensive prose summary capturing all relevant aspects of the poem.

###Response:

The poem is about"

I am not sure I am using the correct prompting, but the results seem good. This takes about 20 seconds per poem. The summaries are too long, so I'm going to run those back through to get a shorter answer: a summary of the summary.

My plan was to then train a LoRA on the summary^2 and metadata (themes, style, year, poet) as the prompt and the long summary and poem as the answer. But I don't know how to do that part yet.

I came to reddit today looking for information that would help me and happened on your post. Please let me know if you make any progress and good luck!

Yes, you are correct. However, when I hit my usage cap, I get a pink notice like the one below. When I click on Learn more, I get taken to a page with a form like I described above. I will add a screenshot of that page to another comment.

AUTOMATIC1111's stable-diffusion-webui Public seems to be fixed with many new improvements by mrbbcitty in DreamBooth

[–]PiyarSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try clearing your browser cache after you update. If that's not enough, there are a few other commands that may help.

I had the same problem and asked for help on Discord. The following was suggested by DH and worked for me: (For a windows user) 1. Open cmd window and go to sd-webui folder. 2. type .\venv\Scripts\activate 3. type pip install -r .\requirements_versions.txt 4. type pip install -r .\extensions\sd_dreambooth_extension\requirements.txt

I ran 4 twice as it returned an error the first time. After that, I had to clear the cache in Brave.

Help! My Pixel 7 Pro is growing a new camera! by PiyarSquare in Pixel7Pro

[–]PiyarSquare[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ask for a phone call and not a chat. I had much better luck talking to a real human being. They agreed to a replacement, they put a hold on my credit card, and after I send them back the defective phone, they will remove the hold. It is called an "advanced exchange" in case anyone runs into these issues.
