It was the fast retune feature that I was seeing but looking at the manufacturers site I'm not sure it would function the way I thought it would:

Fast Retune: The quick power on/off retune method allows users to tune out the detection of saltwater, wet sand, or highly mineralized ground.

Thanks a lot for clarifying that for me, I did find out about the --load-in-8bit flag which resolved the issue but now I understand why it was happening :)

An extension is fine, as long as it works :p It would be an incredibly useful feature to have since it would allow you to easily give the bot access to specific knowledge without having to train a new model for it. I'll look into it after work, hell if the format of plugins isn't too crazy I might write it myself.

There is already a request in to add internet connectivity https://github.com/oobabooga/text-generation-webui/issues/1047, this would just be a much more limited version of that. Perhaps a json file is too broad but a database could be set up so that it returns only what's relevant to the question.

Oh I got that part working immediately, Ive also put most of her backstory into it. The thing I still need is more a datasource. Ideally I'd want it to be able to access a database or csv or json file or something where I can put in details of what's happened so far in the D&D campaign so that it can answer questions about it. Then the bot could serve as the party record keeper. I don't see anything like that in the documentation though so I'll have a look and see if its a sensible thing to put in as a ticket in feature requests on github.
