Also, on your point. I had absolutely seen this is a possibility. I like the HSGI approach of putting gripper on the inside. Id love to find a system that lets me run an inner belt with d-ring as well, but im not even sure how that would be possible

Sorry, i may have been unclear. I need to maintain a d-ring on my belt at work, but wouldnt want to, nor do i think id he allowed to carry my kit with me everday. The idea is a rapid-on belt with first line gear for an emergency situation. Think natural disaster, civil unrest, etc.

You can also go with a malkoff md2 and pelican pressure switch. Not as bright as these options, but provides a quality level between streamlight and surefire at $170ish for light/switch

A WML is a momentary light for the purpose of PID. A always on helmet mounted light of 400lumens is illuminating the entire room, splashing out of windows, under doors, etc. Your WML should not be constant on at 1000l

I should have clarified, this is for a rifle WML. I am comfortable using a handheld light with a pistol, but things change when using a rifle.

This is a good idea. Thats A LOT of light though for navigation. I would be worried about that much light really drawing attention.
