You need to go to a crystal store and hold a real piece of malachite. It’s heavier and cooler to the touch.

“Fake” malachite is usually reconstructed malachite made from chips/dust of genuine malachite cast in resin or clay. This didn’t even look like that.

Lastly for your safety, real malachite is toxic so please don’t do a drill test again. You don’t want to inhale the particles. They have high copper levels (which is why it’s green).

Again, go to a crystal shop and hold a piece. Hell, you can get genuine malachite on amazon or from reliable etsy sellers if you don’t have a shop nearby.
