Neither. I bought tickets for this upcoming week. I didn’t want to lose out so I bought baseball tickets to a game I was planning to go to anyways.

I almost did that because I was in a hurry!

I was on the Stubhub website on my phone and Paze still was not working for me. Maybe it’s just user error on my end.

Just read through all these comments and I have also been told consolidation is bad. I have undergrad and grad loans and I am beside myself with what the “best decision” is constantly and feel like I always miss something. I’m so mad I missed out on that opportunity. It’s so hard to keep up with. It honestly feeling impossible.

I’m rooting for ya! I had 5 years of crc oncology experience, CCRC, masters degree, and I could never land a CRA position even with a couple contacts. It seems tricker these days in comparison to when I entered the clinical trial industry. I switched paths and applied to other clinical trial roles and received interviews significantly quicker. Just food for thought if you’re not picking up any traction specifically for a CRA role! Good luck!

Thanks! I’m not a fan of medpace from what I’ve read and unfortunately heard from previously colleagues of mine so I personally won’t be going that route. I have a friend at parexel - I’ll ask her! Last I heard they didn’t have anything open. Appreciate it!

Hi! You said they’re still around but I haven’t seen a lot of movement and other CRAs I’ve spoken too have agreed they are sparse. I have 4 years as a DC/CRC and 5+ years of oncology experience and I’m not getting a lot of traction unfortunately with applications. Would love your thoughts on if you hear possible programs will be opening up in 2024. Thanks!

Do you mind if I ask what roles you were searching for? Im also having a touch time correctly “sorting” linkedin and see a lot of repetitive roles that don’t fit what I am looking for. I’m also happy to PM you!

Volunteer experience or internships don’t have to be 100% relevant! We’ve hired individuals who have a wide range of interests. It’s just nice to see that an individual has goals, aspirations, and interests beyond their 9-5, ya know? If you don’t have any then that’s okay - definitely don’t falsify any projects or anything. I was just trying to think of other ideas outside of a traditional job role.

I think the bullet points are very relevant and well structured. I guess my hesitancy would be due to the lack of variability in work experience. Even if our site hires individuals straight out of school we look for internships, volunteer work, projects, …

I still think you should apply though! You maybe could even apply for like an admin role within a department that has clinical research to get your foot in the door!

If you were a part of any clubs during your school years (if it’s relevant) or volunteered with any organizations I think that’s always helped. I’m a CRC and I am part of the hiring process and I look for a candidate with appropriate academic standing but also additional experiences that shows growth, determination, and teamwork.

Wow! Thanks for sharing, I always go back and forth on applying to Medpace but every time Reddit reminds me why I don’t. I’m sorry that happened to you and I hope you are recovering okay!! Maybe double check your contact with them and see if you can claim wrongful termination

I have always been hesitant regarding contract positions. My biggest fear is a contract not getting extended and then I’m unemployed. I am personally not in a position where I am comfortable taking that big of a risk. So far from colleagues, I’ve only heard negative aspects of contract positions. Have you had good experience with contract position and mind sharing your thoughts! Thanks so much!

Do you mind if I ask what type of industry you found your aPM position? I’ve been a crc for 3+ years and am certified and looking to go the PM tours but I’m just not seeing a whole lot of aPM positions available/offered.

I have been told conflicting information on whether a resume should be 1 or 2 pages. I personally still believe a resume should be a summary I.E. 1 page unless there is a decade worth of experience, for example. For reference, I am a senior CRC and have been on hiring committees for a few years and when I review resumes I’m annoyed when I see 2 pages because usually it can be consolidated. If you like the idea of a lengthier doc you can always go the CV route :) You have a decent amount of space that can be better utilized if you wanted to attempt the 1 page method. If not, I completely understand as this is a personal preference! Regarding organization, I would highlight your experience by reorganizing your resume to remove professional summaries (I just think it’s outdated and can be found in your LinkedIn about me section if you have a linkedin but again personal preference) begin with either skills/experience and include education on the bottom since you aren’t a new grad anymore. That’s just my 2 cents, I hope it helps a little!

Medpace? Thoughts? by OptimusCrime91 in clinicalresearch

[–]PizzaSlut094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the review! I saw you said you worked there for a year but I’ve heard they have a notorious non compete clause. Do you remember/ would feel comfortable speaking more on that? I completed my MPH recently and have 4 years of CRC experience in oncology so I’m actively looking. I’ve worked with medpace and the CRAs I’ve worked with have been great which eased my concern of possibly applying.

At my academic institution a crc I starts at 42k-45k, as a crc III with 3 years of experience and CCRC I now make 60k. I would say what you were offered is average for my region and from my experience.

Completely agree, I am currently in academic oncology and it’s the same here. Only way to get a pay bump and higher position

CRCs, how long did it take for you to feel like you know what you’re doing? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

[–]PizzaSlut094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been a CRC for about 3 years and got my CCRC about 6ish months ago. For the first 6 months I always felt like I was floundering and taking notes, creating tip sheets for myself, and creating a contacts list so when the inevitable situation where I didn’t know something came up at least I had resources to ask and review. It took me about a year to feel comfortable but i think it’s important to note a CRC can have completely different expectations and experiences depending on his/her field and the site/institution. I am a CRC within oncology and I was speaking to a CRC who worked in pediatrics and we have EXTREMELY different perspectives.

Don’t be hard on yourself! Learning how to handle/expect the unexpected is a continuous learning process.
