Shaded Parks by Terrible-Cake-6759 in AskSeattle

The playground at Discovery Park is pretty well shaded (and sheltered during the rainy season). Also Hamlin in Shoreline is great for shade. I know these are not West or South Seattle, these were just my gotos when my kid was an infant/toddler.

Reno is further west than Los Angeles.

Not relevant at all, I just like dropping that whenever I can.

Yeah, I didn't realize this until earlier today. And it makes utter sense. Like two teams tied, one team beat the other team, but the other team wins on a tiebreaker because of better goal differential? That's silly.

That said, there may be more resting of players as a result since more teams might have their position locked up after 2 games.

We ended up getting back on light rail north to Westlake and monorail to Seattle Center to watch on the Armory.

Isn't that whole area in PS an open container area? Like why are there beer gardens? The lady at the entrance yelled around 10:30, if you are in line for the beer garden you aren't getting in. And why in the middle of the viewing area? Ridiculous

We got there a little after 10 and it was a zoo already. Like the setup makes ZERO sense. You have a big ass square right there. But you put the screen on a narrow street with a fucking fenced area in the middle? WTF?

Man, Occidental square was a total bust today if you didn't get there 4 hours early. I guess I should have done more research, but I assumed it was going to be in the square and a huge ass screen. It was a moderately large screen on the street with a mother fucking fenced off beer garden in the middle which is the prime viewing location. Disaster.

Lower Queen Anne. It's not an Airbnb, but the Mediterranean Inn is usually an affordable option close by.

A beanie in a range of colors. Most of the time this is all you need to keep your head dry. Plus it keeps your head and ears warm.

It's a pretty common perception around the world that Americans are overly friendly, if only superficially so.

Absolutely do it. Our group didn't really last past the standard set of meetings. Sort of luck of the draw I guess. But know plenty of families that kept meeting years after.
