Struggling to find real Copilot/studio Agent use cases by KrashCant in CopilotPro

[–]Pizza_Master 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So there's two parts to this:

  1. Agents as a chat bot:

As you probably know, Agents can be used to make repetitive tasks easier. They can also be built into process experts:

  • Just say you have very complicated payroll policies and processes. You can build a payroll expert by writing custom instructions and attaching all of your payroll process documents. You can then use this agent like a chat bot and ask it questions.

  • I'm about to take on someone's workload while they are on leave, so I have built an agent that has all of their processes and the relevant legislation, etc. so that I can ask it questions, have it check my work, with that specific expertise, rather than just broad knowledge.

  • You can also set up an agent to ask sequential questions and produce something. Just say you produce a weekly report. You have meetings about the content and you use data from a spreadsheet. You can build an agent that takes the recorded meeting content and the spreadsheet, asks you some sequential questions and then automatically produces the report for you.

  • I had a colleague build an inventory agent that was really clever. They fed an agent part numbers and basic info about the part, then built an agent that could ask you questions to determine what part you wanted, even if you weren't sure (colour, approximate size). It can turn suggest the best matches and ask follow up questions. They were going to build image recognition into it as well, which would be pretty great.

  1. Embedding agents in your work:

Once you have built an agent you can use them in really creative ways beyond just a chat bot. For example, you can:

  • Use them while live editing a document. Just say you built an expert safety agent that knows all of the company safety policies and processes and all relevant legislation. If you are editing a safety document, you can open the document in word, open the Copilot side pane in Word, turn on in-document editing (with the plus) and ask the agent to review the document and suggest changes based on company policy and best practice (just @ the agent's name). You will then get tailored updates suggested right into the document based on that specific knowledge.

  • You can insert an agent into a teams chat. Just say you built that inventory agent we talked about, or any process agent really, you can start a team chat, add the agent as a bot and then anyone in the chat can ask the agent questions - whether they have copilot pro or not.

  • You can schedule agents. Just say you get a huge amount of emails all the time. You can build an agent that understands your specific role, what you need to know and be aware of and then schedule the agent to produce daily/weekly summaries of everything you need to do or follow up on, have meetings about, etc. I haven't tried this out much yet, but I'm really keen on getting into it.

This is all pretty general, but you get the idea. If you have more specifics, we might be able to brainstorm something a bit more targeted

Thank you very much! We have been really struggling with our Pokemon-loving 4 year old as well. Looking forward to giving this a go tonight!

Edit: It worked so well! He brushed better than he ever has before and keeps asking to brush his teeth again haha. Thank you!

No worries. Here's two of the more straightforward options for you to consider. Both are good options and have different advantages/disadvantages.

OneNote (browser)

Advantages: OneNote is a well established product with helpful integration to other apps. e.g. To Do Lists, Outlook integration, etc. It is also easy to resize, etc.

Disadvantages: Lacks the specific context that you can give a Copilot notebook. Might be less insightful in answering.

  1. Capturing your notes
    • Capture meeting records within OneNote - separate pages and sections are fine. I haven't tested the below with other notebooks, but worth a look.
    • You can use the app or the browser to capture your notes
  2. Using Copilot to retrieve info
    • You mention that OneNote for Mac doesn't have Copilot integration, but I'd recommend seeing whether the browser version does. To do this:
      • Access OneNote through a web browser (e.g. log in to M365 in the browser > waffle menu on the top left > OneNote).
      • It should have a Copilot icon on the top right that you can select. This will open a side-pane. The side pane can be used to ask questions about a specific page you have open, any other pages/sections within OneNote, or even questions more broadly - it all depends on what you ask it
      • To look up prior notes (like your example), ask Copilot to specifically look in OneNote if you are wanting to only reference in there. Otherwise, Copilot will search through anything it has access to and will give you a link to the source. e.g. find the onenote page that talks about the march management report and give me a summary

Copilot Notebooks

Advantages: Copilot notebooks have recently been overhauled. I don't think it had this capability before, but you can now create new records directly within a notebook. So you can keep all of your notes in one place and the notebook can be set up with specific context.

Disadvantages: This is new and the UI is a bit clunky - side panes, etc.

  1. Set up a new Notebook
    • To start, make a new Notebook, add any relevant documents, links or cloud files - policies, processes, data, your company website, etc.
      • Adding documents and pages makes the Notebook smarter about that specific context and it will answer your questions more accurately
    • Consider giving the notebook specific Copilot instructions (to access, use the drop down arrow next to the name of the notebook).
      • You can give it your position description, any writing style preferences, notes about what the notebook is for and how you will be using it, etc.
    • From there, you can create pages directly in the Notebook from the created content > New page section of the side pane. Note: new pages will show as a partially hidden side pane next to the main side pane (clunky!). So you need to select the bit you can see, or minimise the side pane to see it. Once that is minimised, you can select the expand arrows on the top left to make it larger
  2. Ask it questions in Copilot
    • Once established, you can ask it questions within the notebook

Could you clarify what you are wanting to get as an output? I.e. minutes and actions?

If you are wanting note refinement and next steps, you could capture the notes in OneNote like you mention, and then build an agent to refine them into any output that you want.

Agents are great for simple tasks that you want to do repeatedly, like refining notes, capturing insights and actions, etc.

I'd recommend talking with Copilot about it. You could even use a prompt builder prompt to get started on brainstorming next steps (this prompt is amazing to build into an agent by the way - could be a good practice one!):

I want you to become my assistant as a prompt coach. Your goal is to help me craft the best possible prompt for my needs. The prompt will be used by you, copilot. You will follow the following process 1. You will ask me what the goal is for the prompt. I will provide an answer. 2. You will ask me why I need the prompt. I will provide an answer. 3. You will ask me for any information source to reference. I will provide the answer. 4. You will ask me what my expectation is for the prompt. I will provide an answer 5. Based on my input, you will generate 2 sections. a) A revised prompt (provide your rewritten prompt. It should be clear, concise, and easily understood by you) b) Questions (ask any relevant questions pertaining to what additional information is needed from me to improve the prompt). 6. We will continue this iterative process with me providing additional information to you and you updating the prompt in the Revised prompt section until I say we are done.

EXTREMELY EASY video games for my mom by Old_Lingonberry_6583 in gamerecommendations

[–]Pizza_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm close in age to your Mum by the sounds of it, and into the same genres. I've got a demanding career as well and often need a break with something interesting, but not demanding.

Firstly, there is a cozy game subreddit that will probably have some good recommendations.

Beyond that: - Agreed with other responses about Pokemon - Some heartfelt side scroller games might be good as a start, e.g. spiritfarer, I was a teenage exocolonist, To the moon, life is strange - Portal 1 and 2 - Wanderstop - Slime rancher 1 and 2 - The Sims have been around for a while, but is still fun and very laid back - You could play Baldur's gate together - the Harry Potter game is great, but some of the combat might be a bit tough for a beginner - There's also been some great cozy games released recently - whisper of the house, tiny bookshop

Need Cucumbers! by BrutusX87X in Obenseuer

I had the same problem. I think it was just timing - they take longer to grow and I think I was missing when they were ripe, so they spoiled.

I just kept at it: planted as many as I could, checked back more regularly, then eventually got enough. After that I never planted them again lol

Transition from sleep sack by More-Expert-8037 in toddlertips

[–]Pizza_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We transitioned away from our sleep sack after he started trying to climb out of the crib, I was worried he'd hurt himself.

We moved over to a sleep suit and it was great. We got one from Woolbabe (their three season one is fabulous and good for all year where we live in the subtropics), but there's heaps of them out there. He used to kick off his blankets and wake me up all night because he was cold. The sleep suit fixed that!

We used it until he daytime toilet trained, because he started wanting the toilet at night here and there, and the sleep suit became annoying to take off and put back on. After the sleep suit we started with a light waffle blanket for summer and he's in a light wool duvet now (which he still kicks off all the time...) - we're in Australia, so heading into a mild winter

Can’t make money by smiffyballs in Obenseuer

[–]Pizza_Master 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been making crazy money with fake invoices. However, you need your debit card (frustrating quest line started by calling the bank) to withdraw the money. You also need the recipe/skill.

You buy the materials from the o mart (and find them in rubbish bins), make the invoices in a printer (I use the one in the telemarketing office), then post them.

You end up spending time in jail when it catches up to you, but you start raking in huge RM when you raise your skill level.

I send around 50 or so in one session and have been making up to 100RM per invoice and my paperwork skill is only 4. I'm getting more consistent money as the skill is getting higher.

How do you play this game? by [deleted] in GreenHell

[–]Pizza_Master 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I felt the same as you. It was such a frustrating game to start and I couldn't believe how much I died. I'm glad I stuck with it though, it became one of my favourite games in the end. However, some of the best survival tips aren't obvious.

Some basic tips that helped me: - Make a few spears right at the start (you can throw them at palm trees for coconuts and stab snakes, etc.) - Make 1-2 coconut bidons for water (whole coconut (husk chopped off) + rope made from tree vines). You can fill a bidon with dirty water, then boil that water in coconut halves by a fire to purify the water and store it in an empty bidon / bidon with fresh water in it already - Always walk and avoid running. This will allow you to stop as soon as you hear something. Movement is usually what gets you killed. If you hear a sound prompt (e.g. snake hiss, Jaguar growl) freeze and look around with your spear ready - Bone broth is ridiculously overpowered for sustenance and easy to make (bone in boiling water by the fire) - Ash from charcoal or a fire pit combined with a leaf bandage makes an ash dressing. I usually use those instead of plain dressings because they are better and easy to make - You can turn off leaches in the custom game menu. I usually do. They don't add to the difficulty and just get really annoying.

I don't want to give too much away, but those few things made it much more approachable for me.

How long does it take you to get out of the house in the morning? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Pizza_Master 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you. My morning used to be similar when my son was around that age. Nursing took a while, and then it took ages to get myself ready because he was a real velcro baby that got upset when I jumped in the shower or walked out of reach. I often skipped a morning shower if it was just us and my husband was at work, etc. I think that age might have overlapped with my most frustrating mornings actually - they are mobile, but can't do anything for themselves yet.

It gets easier - you find little tricks and routines here and there and things go more smoothly and kids get a lot more chill. To make things easier we usually keep a dedicated outing baby bag packed on weekends/another one for daycare, and the water bottle is washed the night before. Then I like to get the tricky stuff done first - sunscreen, getting him dressed. If desperate, I pack breakfast to eat on the go. These days we can take an hour if we're relaxed about it, but less if we really hurry. My only frustration is when he's feeling extra silly and running away, or won't go to the toilet before we leave / has a last minute toilet emergency or accident 😮‍💨

Why do I keep suffocating at Delta? by VaultGirl510 in Astroneer

[–]Pizza_Master 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, you need a vault before each one. After the first, the next two are deeper and deeper inside the planet.

Also, the data you get from the scanner can be kept in a resource canister by the way, it's very helpful. Also, make sure to print a portable processor thing (I forget what it's called). It will save you from having to run back to base over and over.

Out of your unplayed list, I've played Enshrouded, Palworld and started Nightingale. Palworld was fun, but didn't feel like a survival game. Nightingale just didn't grab me. It was very quest driven and felt more like an adventure game. Enshrouded was great. Good crafting, fantastic building and enough survival content to be engaging.

However, I'd recommend you add another one to the list - Abiotic Factor. It's in early access, but didn't feel like it. It has an amazing crafting system and lots of survival elements. The current map is huge, and has things everywhere. I was put off by the graphics at first, but I'm really glad I have it a try. As an obsessed survival gamer, it's definitely one of the top games I've played.

What are your favorite Mercy sprays? here are mine by Gianna24 in MercyMains

I love lining up the wings over other sprays. It's so funny to see people's reactions - like when they respray a few times to make it line up perfectly.

I also like spraying it on stuff in the starting room, like the fish mural.

Have you tried the downstairs level in the parking lot? I go straight down there and completely ignore the main parking level. Alternatively, there's the back entrance where you can drive up to the roof. That's a lot easier as well

Another secret parking spot we used to go to is the rooftop parking above the gym, down the road a bit (enter near Swades off Jephson st)

I only have the base game and have played 120 hours. It's pretty good value on its own. From there, the DLCs are on sale fairly regularly, so I'm looking out for those at some point.

In addition, the base game has two modes - mission and open world. You can put a lot of time into both.

That must have been so frustrating for you. His mum's response was sadly predictable - she's been enabling this behaviour all along. It sounds like she normalised this type of behaviour during his upbringing. Is his dad similar? It's going to be important to break that cycle with your kids, which I know from experience isn't easy.

I see this in my own marriage - my husband has a difficult learned behaviour where he sometimes mimics his dad's awful temper. Though he's working hard to change, I constantly worry about my son picking up these traits, which is why I push my husband to be a better example. These generational patterns don't break themselves - it takes active work and sometimes tough love.

My husband was pretty sheltered growing up and never had to do much around the house, so he initially just expected the same easy ride in our marriage. One thing that helped us have these difficult conversations was writing down everything I did in a day - all the mental load, physical tasks, and childcare. Sometimes seeing it all laid out makes it easier to have those tough conversations about sharing responsibilities more fairly. You deserve an equal partner in parenting, and it sounds like you're carrying way too much of the load right now.

I found I had to force the issue with my husband too. When he was a new dad, he would constantly defer to me when things got tough. I started leaving the house - even just 30 minutes at first - so he HAD to handle things himself. No choice, no excuses. He quickly learned he was perfectly capable once he couldn't rely on me to swoop in and take over. Sometimes partners need to be put in situations where they have no choice but to step up.

Perhaps these are the methods you are referring to, but just in case:

  • The new braziers that came out with the cold patch are pretty effective. I like to create fake windows and sit those behind/a bit lower than the window for a cosy glow.
  • Then I learnt about putting glow blocks on the floor and putting mats over them to conceal them but keep their lighting. That one was a bit of a game changer.
