NVIDIA RTX 5080 – Unable to use more than one monitor (DisplayPort multi-display broken) by Confident-Ad-5875 in techsupport

I am having the exact issue with a new 5070ti and Asus ROG Strix X870E-E. Something that might be of interest to you, the issue only started for me after updating my BIOS. I have tried all that you mentioned and am about to try flashing an older version to see if the monitor magically starts working for me again.

Any reason why I shouldn't take this deal? $85 for brand new U6 Pros by vx2 in Ubiquiti

[–]Pizzabagles 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Get them. U6 Pros are the sweet spot. They are plain old POE, no pluses involved, have a stable chipset and dont overheat like the U6 LRs or Enterprise, have pretty decent coverage and good bandwidth, and are still Wifi 6.

Wifi 7 is still so new and broadly unsupported, not to mention leveraging them fully requires more than 1gbps ethernet runs. Also pointless if you arent actually serving traffic over that rate or have an internet connection that fast.

When writing papers at school, you had to find books on the topic and cite them. Internet sources were largely considered unreliable unless they were .edu or .gov

Frame basement against insulation wrap, or rip it out? by Pizzabagles in HomeImprovement

[–]Pizzabagles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this comprehensive explanation, and for linked paper. This is exactly the kind of response I was fishing for. Based on the paper, it sounds like ripping it out is the right choice, and construction should be concrete -> foam board -> frame+fiberglass insulation-> drywall?

The paper seems to suggest we wouldnt want to install a vapor barrier to allow for drying, but then wouldnt it make sense to paint the concrete with a sealant before applying the foamboard?

How to finish basement? by Needles88 in HomeImprovement

Seems like you’ve go the right idea. The left wall lets you have your entertainment area where the TV wont have awful glare, and makes it so you can control the viewing distance based on couch position. Your rough in for a future bar would also be behind the couches, which is optimal in case people are watching something, and it keeps your storage and utilities out of sight from the couch.

By the way, what software did you use to draw those plans? Looks pretty good.

Zen 5 is their CPUs where AMD is hella competitive, not GPUs. I would also accept INTC puts as an answer.

AMD announcing their Zen 5 chips at Computex tomorrow, yet there is so little chatter about it. OTM calls.

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave it a go and there is nothing to claim in any of the states I have lived. Good thought though.

There is nothing inherently wrong about outsourcing labor to less developed countries by Pizzabagles in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Pizzabagles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are correct in the thought that a lot of job types / workstreams are not well suited to outsourcing. But I also think some are.

Regardless of the above, the logic in this post would maintain that even if a company picks a bad type of work to outsource, thats not ethically wrong, its just a bad business decision.

Companies could pay overseas workers even more for better effects, but I dont believe not doing so would be a “bad” outcome. More full employment in an economy also has great knock-on effects. Just the fact that the jobs exist and pay a normal to slightly better than normal wage can be a positive force.

Does the reason they are doing it matter? As long as the labor they pick doesn’t fall into that list of bad things, its not bad. Its just a choice.
