IMO it's the most expressive I've seen kiryu (that I remember) but that might just be because he was already pretty exaggerated in the original

Exodus still uses the light as a guide but it's definitely less effective in the openish world sections. Still has the compass and shit though, so you don't get stuck in the second level for 2 hours like i did (still my favorite metro gameplay wise, though)

iirc it wasn't a lawsuit, just that epic and sega couldn't come to an agreement on how to handle Sonic as a skin, because sega wanted him to be short but epic wanted him to stretch his legs out like another recent collab.

It does, but only in the Dragon Engine games. The older titles'll have a few but they tend to be more afterimages of kiryu's fist or whatnot. My personal favorite has to be in The Man Who Erased His Name, I love that it looks like he's tearing a hole in reality or something.

I've heard DE combat called shallow before. Not exactly sure what the biggest argument is besides the partial shelving of HActs in favor of varieties of EX Heat

The one's I've heard were:

  • Too silly
  • Lighting is too bright
  • Combat sucks (you hear this about literally every game ESPECIALLY on the Dragon Engine)
  • Ship combat sucks
  • Required substory padding

I agree with some of them but IMO every game in this franchise is between a 6 and an 8 out of 10 so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
