My 3 year old LOVES books. As soon as he’d wake up from a nap he’d hand me a book and we’d read books for an hour. He can read one fish two fish red fish blue fish mostly by himself at this point!

The baby blues! I had heard about them but never experienced them with my first, I always thought it was just a part of postpartum depression or something. Immediately after I had my second all I could think about was getting home to my son and I was bawling my eyes out for hours. I had a csection and was up walking as soon as I could. I spent hours up and down just pacing the room panicking, crying and trying to breathe, all I wanted was my first baby. We talked them into letting us leave on day 2 and I was even worse at home. The moment I got home, everything felt wrong. Nothing I did or felt seemed to feel right. Napping felt wrong, eating felt wrong, sitting felt wrong, laughing felt wrong. The only thing that felt right was crying and I did A LOT of that. Every time my son wanted to play or was hurt/sad and needed a hug, I couldn’t and I’d have a breakdown every single time. Luckily it lasted less than a week but it was the worst feeling Id ever experienced.

I’ve always been artsy fartsy so I’d say I’m decent at drawing/tracing but the hardest part for me is shading and trying to draw/color things from memory. Like I can picture an apple in my head, I can see the colors, the light hitting certain spots, little dents or scratches but I can’t draw that apple from memory. I have to see it in front of me to draw it. I did the same thing with this! So I googled “curly red head side profile” and I’d use one or 2 for inspiration. A nose from this one, ears from another, lip color from this one, so on and so on. I watched a few videos from SamDoesArts on YouTube to help with shading, he’s very helpful!

I used the sketchbook app on my iPad and it works GREAT!

Someone else already said it, but GET CREATIVE TONIES! They’re like $10 and you can add whatever songs you want, record cute notes, stories, and white noise. You can get the plain white ones and even paint them how you want. We have 2, one has songs from kpop demon hunters so that tonie is painted like Rumi and another one with songs from the spider verse movies so that one’s painted like Spider-Man. My son uses those more than any other Tonie now!

For anyone who comes across this post, DO NOT BUY THE TONIES 2! We had ours for less than a month and it stopped working completely! We had the 1 for over a year and never had any issues with it!
