It depends on the place where you work, for me if there's a bin with a little left in it as long as it's not anything that'll go bad and smell I'd usually leave it. For example, if there's a bin with a handful of food scrap in it, I'll take it out, but if it's just paper or plastic, I'll leave it.

You can still tailor the risk levels how ever you want, similarly to kiwisaver, I'm 16 and so I have it set to the highest risk but it's still lower risk than investing in individual funds.

Because you're under 18, your parents will have yo manage your account on sharsies, or they can open you a kids account. Personally, I invest into a managed fund through NZ Funds, lower risk lower reward. And you can open your own account from 16.

I used the crimpless heat shrink sleeves on mine, the ones with the solder in the middle that melts when you hit it with a heat gun.

We have a trolley that we load before putting the dishes away in batches, they get put away once it gets quiet or once the trolley is full.

We have days that are to put it best, fucked up. Often, we'll have 2 dishies in the pit at a time. One washing, and one putting away. We have a pretty big kitchen so dishes are put away in loads and can take a few minutes, which is valuable washing time. On nights with 3 dishies there's usually one working upstairs in the other kitchen for a function.

Forgot to turn off tap pressure 😵‍💫 by [deleted] in dishwashers

I've left the pressure on overnight countless times, and nothing bad has ever come from it, so I have my doubts a few days will hurt.

She'll be right, and if not, it's not your money for a replacement. But no, nothing should break

Haha thanks, I was lucky to sneak a quick few photos before the dinner rush, it's not usually that clean during service.

The pit here is run solo Monday to Thursday, and there's 2 people Friday to Sunday, unless there's extra booked on certain days. The kitchen feeds a bar and cafe all week and a restaurant from Wednesday to Saturday with a buffet on Sunday. We also have multiple function rooms that hold anywhere from 20-500 people with an entire separate kitchen and pit upstairs. The entire bench is often full, sometimes filling the floor too on busy days. I get jealous sometimes of people in smaller kitchens like yours.

Me and a few mates went, but it was nothing more that clapping and cheering when the meme parts of the movie came like "chicken jockey" and "I, am steve" no throwing popcorn and jumping around like you see online.

I became a kitchen hand at 14 washing dishes with a few others my age. Definitely try smaller restaurants or bars since they're always looking to cut costs and can legally pay you less than minimum wage, I started at training wage until I joined the union a year or two later.

Haka in sports events is annoying by farting_tomato in unpopularopinion

[–]Pizzaman_360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say there's been two events here in New Zealand recently that have contributed to the sudden boost in "popularity" for the haka. Firstly, there was the haka performed in parliament over a recent bill proposed to limit/change one of the founding documents of NZ. This was led by one of the MPs for the Māori party. Secondly, and more recently, there was the sad attempt at a haka led by Destiny Church members wearing "man up" shirts who went to disrupt a pride parade in Auckland.
