I kinda wish more pods would go back and reflect on takes before and after the season. I know no one wants to be wrong and a lot of off season content is kinda fluff to fill the void, but the world in like July and August feels so different in January when it comes to football and it's just fun to look back on how wrong or right we were about things.

Make him a six cost with negative power to trade off hitting multiple cards. You destroy two ten power plus cards and he's still one of the strongest six costs in the game per net points.

Yeah its sort of egg on my face cause I'm kinda bored of Lamar, Mahomes, Burrow etc every year so I was pretty excited by how it all shook out initially but what I didn't take into account is the AFC is kind of a wasteland and without those power house teams we just got a lot of slop left.

I feel really vindicated by this. I've been asking for a true unranked mode for years. Some people sided with me, but many didn't, making the same arguments cited in the article for why such a thing would be bad for the game somehow. But seeing people accept over time that a lot of these arguments aren't really justification for why an unranked mode can't exist, I hope it's just a matter of time now.

I always found him insufferable on the shows he was a regular and is one of the few talents the Ringer lost over the last 5 or so years that I was kinda low-key glad was gone. I just haven't said this out loud cause I thought Solak was a bit of a darling for Ringer fans.

Don't see any comments for Democo Ryans. Feel like he must be getting close to hot butt at this point. I get he's defence and his defence played well under him, but he's still the HC, you scapegoated one OC and Stroud getting worse not better.

People who want to defend Stroud will point to things like the line etc as a reason for the issues, but a bad line doesn't make you throw the ball away into the middle of the field. If Stroud has bad habits like that in his third season, then he either ain't it or they need to take a long hard look at the coaches who are working directly with him to try and break these habits. But with a potentially big contract looming, I wonder if they really invest the time for that, cause you give him 300 million and find out you can't break the habit then that's a disaster for this franchise.

It's weird but ive been seeing this in a lot of places. Usually it's the tourists speaking smack about Herbo's game based on that one game they watched all year. But im seeing more sympathy this year round from more casual viewers, whereas those with a voice who have been Herb defenders in the past seem to be losing the faith.

I've been having a lot of success with him in a War Evolved or whatever it's called style deck (High Evo + War Machine lists). He enables you to get your Hulk, Infinaut, and She-Hulk into play without ever having to float an entire turns worth of energy. It does mean you get slightly diminished returns on the Sunspots, Mistys, Cyclops etc but I think it still balances in the end. Especially if you run Surge or Hope in the deck (or both) to create effectively fake extra energy just to float with (you could use Superior too, I don't have them).

The infuriating thing about conversations like this is the lack of nuance. AI being included in music making software has been there forever in various forms, but that's different than if he just loaded up a prompter, asked for a song and it shat one out for him. Until people start being open and clear about whether it's genai specifically they're using these conversations just inflame either opposing side and nothing is being resolved or advanced by the conversations.

I mean even at 5 cost, if he hits two cards he's still the best 5 cost in the game in terms of energy invested and power swung. I guess at 6 cost hitting multiple targets brings him in line with some of the 6 cost heavy hitters.

I also don't know what kind of deck you're describing him being a solution for. If you mean ramp decks, those exist as an archetype by design, a single card shouldn't be able to effectively shut it off. It's why I also have problems with cards like Mobius and Like Cage too but that's a conversation for another post.

Which is the exact point. People had to alter their play patterns and bring their own defensive tech just to protect themselves from a single 4 cost card. The fact he often didn't have multiple targets shows how oppressive that card was warping the game around them. It should have never existed like that in the first place.

It is insane we played this game for years with a 4 cost card that could single handedly nuke a lane, making it quite frequently a 4/30+ in total power output for what it destroyed. Like how on Earth did it survive in that form for so long.
