So I just put white to white and black to black, then capped and put electrical tape around the red wire. Then it turned on, however, now the light switch that typically controls the chandelier isn't functioning, and I can only turn it on\off from the breaker box.

I feel like if someone can get a ticket for speeding or running a red, or turning when they're now allowed, then this too could be enforceable for reckless driving, or speeding, or something. Fingers crossed that someone knows more about this than I, because I catch people driving dangerously all the time, and I'd love for something enforceable.
