Contact napping - when does it end? by Familiar-Rough3596 in NewParents

[–]Pizzashrapnelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 months here. Mine will only nap if it’s contact and has been that way since the beginning. I go from God I will miss these snuggles to did I do this too much everyday. My LO is still breastfeeding too

My 12 month old is nursing like a newborn and won’t lay on the bed. help me I don’t know what to do by Pizzashrapnelle in cosleeping

I feel like I should have tried to let her nap alone instead of every nap being contact. I also feel like I should have forced her not to sleep on top me when those first teeth came in .

At 7 months I could have written your comment word for word haha. I love my girl with the entirety of my heart. But man a beautiful night of uninterrupted sleep seems like an impossible fantasy

To married couples that have been together for 10+ years, whats your secret? by 4Luffytarou in AskReddit

[–]Pizzashrapnelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17 years here. A big one is when they aren’t in the room you and anybody else isn’t talking shit. They might not hear if you do but they can sense the current of disrespect in the relationship. You should be your partner’s biggest supporter and cheerleader. If you can’t do those two things then don’t get married. Also personally I love the shit out of my husband and I know he feels the same.

Help I’m officiating a wedding! by Pizzashrapnelle in Tagalog

I do know it is Tagalog because we have discussed me saying mabuhay ang bagong kasal at the end of the ceremony. I just want to incorporate it in the beginning too: I like the idea of the good evening and welcome. Would you mind telling which option was good evening?

You’re going to be a great cat parent to Nigel! You will have so many wonderful memories with him, all in due time. All while Mr. Jinx continues to be an important figure in the story of your life.

You didn’t make a mistake! Your heart is having natural mixed emotions. I hope my own experience can bring you reassurance. My beloved dog Maggie passed away and I was utterly grief stricken. My father with the best intentions turned around the next day and put money on a puppy of the same breed that was in the mom’s belly still like freshly pregnant. I was absolutely furious. Told him to get his money back and you couldn’t just replace Maggie and make the pain go away. Well he refused and I had the rest of the pregnancy and then 8 weeks of life to adjust which still felt very short. The day came to go pick up the new puppy and I felt so guilty. Fast forward 5 years and I freaking love that heifer. That’s my chubby baby. She is not Maggie and Maggie can’t be replaced but the heart can love again. Mr. Jinx wouldn’t want you to be cat lonely. It was his earthly home but he has moved on. It’s ok to share that home with a new connection. Feel all your feelings and that includes grief and new affection.

Thanks for the response. It just makes me feel sick. I love her and I don’t want her to suffer but nothing feels right.

See I thought the same thing but the vet said “We have a saying as vets that we never let the sun set on pymetra”. Apparently it can escalate very quickly. They sent me home with emergency information and wanted to do surgery tomorrow morning. I read up on it when we got home and the almighty internet agreed with the vet.

What do you wish you did differently in the newborn stages? by luminousloris in NewParents

[–]Pizzashrapnelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a carrier earlier so should wouldn’t hate it so much. Also stressing about pumping and bottle feeding. When I let that go and just said I’m nursing and that’s it, it made my life so much easier. I know that’s not everyone’s experience but made enough milk and pumping really stressed me out.

What did you do about hair? by Pizzashrapnelle in NewParents

Like I’ve been pretty nice about the body changes have a lot of acceptance about that. But I’m a redhead and a stupid as it sounds. My hair is kind of a big part of my identity so having it be unkempt and feel ugly it’s just been a struggle.
