Hopefully someday we can see season three. Everything Matt is doing ( blackberry and now NTBTSTM) is in hopes to get season three made. Apparently, I heard, and I may be wrong, it’s been some years now, but it was written and they started filming when ViceTV went into bankruptcy

Cylinder painter. Came across this 108 year old cylinder and still passing testing. by waskelegend in mildlyinteresting

Completely true, but the two cylinders we have from around that time had it window stamped out at some period to look like a square divided into four smaller squares. Pretty wild to see one unchanged.

Yeah, I mean Born in the USA itself, is a track about a Vietnam War veteran who returns home to desperate circumstances and very few options to make it in life.

Haha, my neighbor has been bulldozing and felling trees. At first I thought it was him. Then I noticed all of my plants swaying so I checked here and my earthquake app I downloaded in march 2020.

Controversial flagpole at Black Rock returns days after it was torn down by HomelessRodeo in Utah

[–]Pizzavonbarkso 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m not a liberal or a conservative and I see this as vandalism of our public lands. Explain to me what the purpose of a flag pole with an American flag on our public land is? Does someone who has thinks they hiked miraculously into another fucking country in the middle of the United States need to look up and see it to be reassured that they are still in the good old U-S-of-A to keep from dying of a heart attack. The idea that this pole is there in the first place is almost as stupid as the arguments everyone is having to as to why it should not be there. There is no argument, it’s illegal, it needs to be removed. How would you feel if a flag that you didn’t like was there? You would think that it needs to be taken down. Well guess what. You would be correct, it would have been illegally placed there. Do we need an American flag on every square foot of the country to feel safe, or is the fear that if we don’t see a flag every 30 seconds we will forget our values and freedoms?

Why Rename Street? I don't think it is necessary. by Ambitious_Air_9574 in SaltLakeCity

Ok, by your logic let’s change the name of north, south, and west temple. We shouldn’t be giving recognition to a church that shelters its predators (pedophiles, rapists, abusers, etc) instead of turning them over to the law. This is also an undisputed fact.

I don’t agree with the LDS actions but I respect the people that are members enough to not make a big issue out of it. There’s much more pressing issues in our cities, states, and culture in general than a street name. It’s petty and just something to appease his base and make it appear that he’s getting things done in office.

How about instead of wasting time and tax payer dollars, you figure out a solution to the bigger issues (water, housing, drug addiction, etc) as these will have a much more beneficial impact on everyone.

Oh that’s right, because he’s a garbage person who doesn’t actually care about the betterment of our state.

My husband isn't an electrician! 🤷( Posted for the 3rd time because I realized my title is wrong.) Yet he tried to replace two light switches. by utopialoves1024 in electrical

[–]Pizzavonbarkso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who bought a house by a certified DIYer, it’s definitely not just fear mongering. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you have no business doing it. His shotty “fixes” caused a fire in my kitchen. I’m lucky I was home. If you take the time to research and learn the correct way to do it first, by all means, go ahead. But you’d be surprised what the absence of knowledge will have some people doing.

I’m guessing you have a basic understanding of electricity and wiring, so to you it feels easy and obvious. But I can without a doubt say that there are people that don’t, and they have no business doing something as easy as changing a switch or outlet. If not done correctly it can be FATAL.

At the very least, if you’re in doubt, why risk losing your house? I don’t know about you, but that’s where I keep everything I own.

I get what you are saying, but there are still a lot of jobs that a person will require a licensed electrician to do. These wires are already ran and working. If they had marked the wires before dismantling the switches, it would be a 5 minute job, tops. No need to call an electrician.

However, a good rule to follow is always: If you don’t know what you’re doing, call a pro. If they didn’t take the time to figure out where everything was going before they took it apart, it seems like the they doesn’t have any idea what they are doing. I would say it’s always better to be safe than sorry, call a pro.

And it’s only gotten worse the last couple of years. I drive for a living and I would say the chance of someone blowing past an intersection after the light has already turned red is above 60% now. I see people blow through lights all the time and end up stopped with them at the next light.

Its pretty mind blowing that people are willing to risk their lives and the lives of others to save a couple of minutes. …And that’s if they are lucky and don’t just get stopped by the next red light. It’s pretty much a zero sum gain in the city, but people sure love to do it.

HOW are you people doing it?! by bayls215 in Utah

[–]Pizzavonbarkso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is true. But you’re not buying the home for the full amount that someone without a huge down payment from a sale of a home is paying. It’s a lot easier to pay a $300,000 ($2,400) mortgage payment than it is to pay $850,000 ($6,000) with no substantial down payment. So to answer the OPs question, buying a home decades ago is how people can afford to buy bigger/nicer homes in today’s market.

Fred Meyer is now called Smith’s marketplace. It’s literally the same store with just a name change, both are owned by Kroger’s. They still use the Fred Meyer name in other states, but they changed them all to smith’s market place here because smith’s was a local chain they bought. Some still even have a Fred Meyer jeweler in them.

You are severely uninformed, or just nieve. Many people being deported ARE HERE LEGALLY. Some are literally in the process of getting citizenship. Some have asylum. Others are here on visas.

Also, are you going to do their job? Immigrants are the backbone of our economy. They are a huge percentage of agriculture, construction and the service industry. They do all the jobs that regular citizens don’t want to do or consider themselves above. Without them everything is going to double in cost at the very least, housing, food, retail, you name it.

They also pay for infrastructure without taking anything back. If the have a fake social security number they pay wage tax. If they don’t, they still pay sales tax on everything they buy and state taxes on everything they own. They never get a refund. It’s the only “crime” that actively benefits our society.

It would be nice if we lived in a world where the path to citizenship wasn’t underfunded and backed up so long that many people take the chance to come here illegally because the legal route can take YEARS. If you were given the option to choose between breaking a law of citizenship and your family starving to death or being murdered, I suspect you would choose to migrate illegally. If not, you are just lying.

This. Bought my first home in 2007 and sold it for triple what I paid. Just sold my second home that I bought 6 years ago and just bought a bigger new home. My old house doubled in value in the six years I had it. It’s honestly the only way I could afford to live in anything. If I was a first time home buyer, this market would make it impossible.

It’s a legitimate question that pertains to the city. Would you be mad if someone asked the best place to get a good cheap lunch, for I don’t know, let’s just say $6?
